Chapter 10

I crack my eyes open and bright fluorescent lights filter into my view. That same annoying beeping infiltrates my eardrums and I groan.

“Shut it off,” I grumble trying to roll over onto my side. Fully opening my eyes, all drowsiness is gone, and sitting in the chair beside me isn’t Lucian. Mary is fast asleep in the chair beside me and my jaw drops, it can’t be. If she’s here that means I’m not on Silver Moon’s territory, I’m on Blood Moon’s. No, no, no, no I can’t be back here I’d rather be with the vampires. I can’t be here, I can't. Panicking I rip the IV drip out of my arm, not caring I’m only in a hospital gown I run. Out of the hospital room, and down the hallway. Stopping only when I recognize Sylvia tapping away on a nurse’s computer.

“Sylvia?” I ask, breaking her trance from the computer and she raises her big round eyes to me.
