Moment of truth

Princess Nina, Prince Pais and Takunda were sitting in the great hall.

Prince Pais was asking Takunda, "Warrior, where are your people, where is the help they promised?" Unless they arrive soon it may be too late".

"It is true, said princess Nina, the aliens are pressing us hard. They seem to be deliberately herding us together into a smaller space".

"The situation can not go on much longer like this", prince Praise.

"I agree with prince Pais, we can not afford to keep retreating. We must make a stand", said princess Nina.

"Help is on the way a military contingent has been deployed from earth", said Takunda.

"But when will this help arrive , noble warrior?", asked princess Nina. Your planet is far from Plaska even by your own admission".

An aide suddenly burst in panting almost out of breath.

"Your majesties the northern barrier is about to collapse", the aide announced frantically.

Prince Pais quickly spoke into his communicator," all troops converge at the northern barrier, I shall meet you there!"

"Quick let us go, warrior, prince Pais", said to Takunda.

"I am coming along", said princess Nina.

"My princess you must stay here. It is too dangerous, one of us must survive to lead the people", said prince Pais.

"No Pais, I serve our people better leading the fight from the front rather than hiding within the safety of the castle walls".

This is no time to be arguing", said Takunda.

"The warrior is right", princess Nina said. She took a blaster from a wall and ran out of the castle with prince Tais and Takunda also brandishing blasters in tow.

Maidei stood at one of the Horizon's windows looking out at the stars shooting past. The sight giving her a sense of speed as the super lifter sped towards the planet.

Captain Maedza stood on the bridge watching the planet on the bridge's big screen as the Horizon entered the planet's orbit.

"All engines full stop!", he ordered.

"Gunnery report?", captain Maedza called out.

"Multiple targets selected", reported an officer sitting at a console along a side panel on the flight deck.

"On screen", called captain Maedza.

There were several large alien vessels on the planet's surface. Captain Maedza guessed the largest of the vessels which was in the middle must be the flagship. Smaller fighter craft, the kind they had encountered in earlier attacks lay some distance apart.

"Fire!" shouted captain Maedza.

Sitting on the bridge of his flagship, Kravaza, General Amzda", watched as the enormous starship entered planet's orbit. The Karavaza's sensors suddenly detected fast moving objects moving away the starship. An officer immediately reported, "general, several objects sighted moving away from the starship. The objects have entered the planets's atmosphere and approaching the fleet!?"

It didn't take Amzda long to realize what was go on.

"Missile attack! order all starships to lift off immdiately!", Amzda frantically shouted to his communications officer.

"Lift off!", he shouted at the Karavaza's crew.

"Order skysweepers to attack!", Amzda shouted at the Karavaza's communications officer.

The Horizon's missiles were raining down on the alien vessels as they began to lift off from the Plaska's surface.

Maedei stood at the window on the Horizon watching the first barrage of missiles rain down on the planet. She could see the distant bright flashes of the explosions.

Captain Maedza called out, "Gunnery report!?"

"Several large vessels destroyed. Smaller fighter craft have escaped into the planet's atmosphere and seem to be regrouping to attack.

The force commander quickly spoke into his communicator, "all arrow head pilots launch and destroy those fighters".

Arrowheads shot out of the Horizon's cargo holds on a collision course with the alien craft which were rising from the planet. The arrowheads regrouped into a deadly cross shaped attack formation upon entering the planet's atmosphere.

Approaching the alien craft from overhead, the arrowheads opened up with barrage of rocket fire hitting the alien fighters with deadly precision.

The arrowheads swept across the sky combining devastating fire power and speed in an unstoppable advance.
