Unceasing Vigil

And there Aurora slept in guilt without eating because of the words she said to him, after all, he was just concerned.

NEXT DAY

I got dressed for school and went down to have my breakfast. Later, I went to school, and the whole day was just like every other day. But there was something odd, and I definitely knew what it was. Adrien. He didn't call me even once the whole day, and here I am, going back home after school. I tried calling him, but didn't get any reply.

WAIT A SECOND, Did I tell what happened to my teacher?

FLASHBACK

In the morning, as usual, I entered the class, and the whole class was empty, but there was my teacher sitting. Like seriously, I never imagined that she would be here in the class after the incident that took place yesterday. I thought that she would have surely resigned. Such a brave teacher I have got. I greeted her and tried to read her emotions, and the only emotion I was able to read was panic. Well, it's not her fault. Anyone would get scared after facing such a traumatic situation.

FLASHBACK ENDS

Well, to be honest, I don't even care anymore because today was the last day of my school life. Today was the last exam, and some people might think, "What if I failed?" Let me tell you, it's not possible because I am Aurora. No one can fail me at any cost.

Okay, enough of talking about my day. Let's go have dinner, and then I will think about how to apologize to Adrien.

I had dinner and went back to my room.

I tried calling him, but no answer. So, I made a plan. I used fake blood and covered my face and arms with it, took a photo of myself pretending I fainted after being mercilessly abused, and sent it to Adrien. I knew he wouldn't be able to resist and would come running to me. The evil mind I have got (I smirk). After sending the photo, I cleared my face and arms. Now, it's time to wait for him.

Not even five minutes passed, and he was already in my balcony. I switched off the lights and hid.

Adrien's POV: I should not have left her alone, and I don't think it's her parents. After all, I know she would never let them lay their hands on her. There must be someone else behind all this. I need to be careful. Maybe he is still hiding somewhere inside as the lights are off.

Aurora's POV: He entered carefully, holding a gun in his hands. I knew he would come. When he entered, I quickly went behind him, pushed him towards the wall, and locked him between my arms.

"A-A-Auro-" he stammered, suddenly struck by my words from last night.

"Your Highness," he corrected himself, in total shock as I stood so close that my breath was hitting his neck. These men are so tall.

"Now time to answer my questions," I said.

"You faked everything? And that too just because I was ignoring you?" he asked, disbelief evident in his voice.

"You didn't leave me with any choice as you were ignoring my calls and texts since morning. You know, just because of you, I have to walk to school and back home. And the answer to your question is, yes, I faked everything. Such a talented person I am, right?" I flipped my hair, feeling all proud of myself.

"Not at all," he said, and I moved away from him, making an "Oh" face.

"You evil little girl, you know when I saw that photo, I felt my whole world crash," he said, showing his eyes. For the first time in my life, I saw his fearless eyes showing fear, fear of losing his precious part of life.

"I am sorry," I whispered in guilt, lowering my eyes.

"Sorry for?"

"For making you worried and..."

"And?" he prompted.

"And for shouting at you yesterday," I apologized.

"Look at me," he gently commanded.

But I was too eaten up by guilt to look into his eyes. He gently put his hand on my chin and raised my face.

"You know I just care for you, nothing more than that. I just want you to be happy, and whenever your parents say something to you, my blood boils in anger," he gently caressed my cheek.

I looked at him with doe eyes.

"Don't you want to know the reason why I got angry after you said so much about them and why I am even living with them?" I asked.

"I know there must be a specific reason behind it, and I won't ask you now. Whenever you feel comfortable, you can discuss it with me. I will always be there for you," he said.

"Thanks for everything," I smiled and suddenly remembered something from last night.

"By the way, why were you smiling after reading something from your phone?" I asked.

"About that, congratulations," he said, congratulating me.

"For what?" I asked, curiosity piqued.

"Guess."

"Tell me, please," I asked, dying of curiosity.

"You got admission into the university you applied for," he revealed.

I jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly out of happiness. After all, my dream came true. Who wouldn't be happy to get admission into the university of their dreams?

I was shouting crazily when suddenly Mom shouted while coming towards my room.

"Why the hell are you shouting? What will the neighbors think?" she shouted.

I quickly got down from his arms and asked him to hide. Just a few seconds later, the door of my room burst open, revealing my angry mom.

"Uh, Mom, actually, I saw a cockroach," I lied.

"Where is it?" Mom asked.

"Near the wardrobe." Oh sh*t, Adrien is hiding in the wardrobe. I couldn't think of any idea, so I shouted again and climbed on the bed.

"What now?" Mom looked at me, frustrated.

"It ran out of the room," I nervously smiled.

"Now go and sleep. Tomorrow is your exam," my mom said, walking out of the room.

Looks like Mom didn't remember that my exam ended today, I thought.

I sighed and locked the door. Just then, Adrien came out of the wardrobe. I looked at him and said, "That was a close call."

He smiled, looking at my cuteness, and opened his arms, wanting me to hug him.

I smiled and hugged him, showing my happiness.

"I wish you always stay happy like this," Adrien thought, holding me tightly.

As we hugged, I realized how much he cared for me. The warmth of his embrace brought comfort and a sense of security that I hadn't felt in a long time. Adrien's presence had a way of calming the storm inside me, making everything feel a little less overwhelming.

"Thank you for always being there for me," I whispered, my voice filled with gratitude.

"Always," he replied softly, his voice filled with sincerity.
