Here's a quick recap of the story so far:
Aurora is a girl who often hears mean gossip from her classmates, but she keeps a strong, cold face to protect herself. She gets into arguments with teachers, showing she is tough and doesn't back down. When a conflict with a teacher becomes intense, Aurora handles the situation smartly and deletes any evidence, reinforcing her "Queen of Coldness" reputation.
Outside of school, Aurora has a bodyguard named Adrien who cares deeply for her. Their relationship shows Aurora's softer side, even though they sometimes argue. Adrien always wants to protect her and make sure she is safe. Aurora is thrilled when she gets accepted into her dream university, Seoul National University, with a full scholarship. Her parents are surprised by the news.
-----------------------------------------------------
"WHAT?" my mother, father, and brother shouted in unison.
After a long pause, Dad said, "Fine, you got admission to SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY in SOUTH KOREA and a full scholarship. But still, we can't afford it."
"Exactly!" Mom added, "Who will pay for the flight ticket? Who will pay for the passport and visa? And even if the hostel is provided by the college, it's still very expensive. You'll need new clothes and many other things."
"We can afford buying clothes and other necessities but not the passport, visa, and flight ticket. If you can manage to get a nearby college with a scholarship, then it's okay; otherwise, no college for you," Dad added further.
"Dad, hear me out once. The university will pay for the ticket, passport, visa, and the hostel is provided by the college, so I just need to buy other necessities," I replied, my voice steady with determination.
After thinking for almost 10 minutes, Dad finally replied, "Fine, I have no problem. What do you say?" Dad asked Mom.
"I don't think there's any reason to deny it after everything is provided by the college. I also don't have any problem," Mom replied.
"Ok then, I'll go and call the university for confirmation so they can start the process of my admission," I replied and went to my room, glancing at my brother, who was engrossed in playing games on his laptop. This man doesn't give a damn about what is happening in his surroundings. Well, he is also good in studies and in e-sports, so good that he could be a professional player.
But our parents want us to excel in studies, not in these things. Also, my brother is very protective and supportive, more than our parents, at least.
Ok, enough about my brother.
I messaged Adrien to start my admission process at the university and then laid down on the bed, relaxing for a while.
Finally, I will be out of this hell life. My mind drifted back to the university. Finally, I got admission to my dream university, a university where THEY are studying. It's like a dream come true.
So you all must be wondering who I mean by 'they,' right? Continue reading to find out.
Days started passing by with the preparation, and tomorrow is the day I am going to leave this country. I already received my passport, visa, and flight ticket. Although I didn't need it, I have it now—such a waste of money.
Also, this whole month my mom drained all my savings on buying things for me like makeup, clothes, shoes, heels, etc., and today we are going shopping at a mall.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up early today and went downstairs after getting ready only to find my whole family ready to go somewhere. That's when I discovered that we are going to the mall. Seriously, she still isn't done with shopping even after buying me so many things.
We reached the mall, and my mom seemed like she would buy the whole mall for me today. I sometimes wonder how a person can change so much in a microsecond. She hates me, but she also loves me; she demotivates me, but she also supports me; she doesn't care about me, but she also protects me. And the same goes for my father and brother as well.
"Aurora! AURORA!"
I came out of my thoughts when I heard her shouting my name. I approached her, and again she handed me a dozen dresses to try on. I sighed and went to try them on.
After trying, we continued shopping with my mom beside me making thousands of comments like "Don't buy it; you'll look fat in it," "It's too revealing," "People will say bad things about you if you wear it." After draining all of her savings in the restaurant and shopping the whole morning, we went back home. She bought me a beautiful saree too because today is my farewell.
Now you all must be thinking that after a whole month of exam completion, our school is giving us a farewell. Well, I would say that, thank God, they are giving us a farewell at least.
I enjoyed the whole evening at the party, and not to mention my classmates were jealous of me because I am the only one who got admission to a university so fast. Otherwise, it takes almost six months—first the entrance exam, then counseling, but not in my case. I am enjoying my life to the fullest.
I came back home and went to sleep after packing my bag for tomorrow. My flight timing is in the afternoon, so I don't have to worry.
NEXT DAY, MORNING, 7:00 A.M.
"Aurora, wake up," Mom shouted from downstairs.
"I am already awake, Mom," I said, coming downstairs after taking a bath.
"Wow, you woke up early today, sleepyhead."
"Of course, it's a big day for me."
"Ooh, someone is really excited to go to Korea."
"Yes, very much."
"Come and have breakfast, then I will teach you how to do some light makeup."
Honestly, I don't even know how to apply lipstick. After all, I used to stay away from all these things.
After all this, I did some last-minute checking and then got ready. My flight timing is at 5:00 P.M.
Talking about my outfit, I looked absolutely stunning, exuding powerful mafia queen vibes. I wore a sleek black crop top paired with a chic black denim jacket, complemented by form-fitting black jeans and edgy black boots. To complete the look, I accessorized with a stylish pendant, a sleek watch, and a pair of trendy sunglasses. The overall effect was an effortlessly cool, all-black ensemble. I left my hair cascading freely over my shoulders, adding a touch of dramatic flair to my appearance. As I descended the stairs, it was still 2:00 P.M., leaving me plenty of time since the airport was just a mere 20 minutes away from my house. The anticipation of the journey ahead made me feel even more confident and ready to embark on this new adventure.
