Chapter 30

ALEX

My grandmother's house was a bit far from where I had arranged to meet Gabriela, but even so, it didn't take me long to get there. I parked in the first place I saw and I was going to call her when I noticed her, near the shore or into it, I'm not completely sure about that, I see her looking towards the sea. She hadn't changed, so I suppose she didn't go to her house to change, although I was at home and didn't change, that was the least of it.

I started walking towards where she was and the truth was there weren't too many people, which was normal, it's winters and despite the fact it wasn't cold, people didn't usually come to the beaches, or at least to this one as far as I remember. When I get to her, I see that she still has my jacket on and that made me feel good, because it meant it didn't bother her at all that it was mine. I didn't want to scare her or disturb what she was thinking so I stand behind her without making too much noise. I loved seeing her so calm, it gave me peace of mind too. A couple of minutes later she turns to look behind her and stares at me.

"How long have you been standing here?" she asked, but with a smile struggling to appear on her face "Not long, don't worry" I assured her, even though I had no idea how long I had been standing here "You could have warned you were here, I don't kill as far as I know."

"Not for a few days, it doesn't seem like you want to kill me." We both laughed and I was stunned looking at her brown eyes. Whenever I saw them, I could get lost for hours because they were precious, the most beautiful on this planet.

"Now what's wrong with you?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. I hadn't realized she had taken a step towards where I was, so I paid attention to what she was saying.

"What did you say?" I asked and Gabriela rolled her eyes, but with a smile on her face, "If you're okay." she inquired and I nodded "Yes, yes I am." I affirmed, "So what were you looking at with that face?" she asked again "Your eyes... are beautiful."

"They are nothing from another world, yours are. In them I can see how you really are." she said and I smiled "Do you think so?" I asked curiously "Of course I think so" She stated "Hey Gabriela, if you want to return my jacket to me on Monday, that's fine."

"If I give it back to you on Monday, are you going to tell me why you came here today?" Gabriela asked, raising an eyebrow "Because I like spending time with you, besides it's not a problem, it seems you're still a bit cold."

"I'm still the same whopping as always." she replied laughing "I see, but do you want to take a walk along the shore?" I asked and she nodded. We began to walk along the shore. She had her shoes in hand and her feet in the water. With the reflection of the sea and the sunlight it looked beautiful, which it always was. I'm not able to describe her beauty.

"Hey Gabriela, why do you like the sea so much?" I asked curiously, "Because it's beautiful, it conveys calm, it helps me relax. Also, according to what is said, it's where all life comes from, everything in the sea is beautiful, it's full of life."

"You really are beautiful, and I mean it when I tell you I love you, I'm not kidding." I assured her "I know, I know you mean it, there is no doubt about it." I didn't expect. I turned to look at her to see if I had imagined it or it just happened because I couldn't believe it. Gabriela looked at me and smiled at me, as if she knew everything going through my head.

"I'm serious, don't make that face." she said "Did I hear that right?" I asked, a smile beginning to form on my face. "Yeah, you heard that right." Gabriela confirmed "Really?" I asked again in disbelief "Yes, seriously, you can believe it." she replied laughing.

"Then there may be a chance for us?" I asked and she nodded "I never said there was no possibility there would be a us in the future." she assured and I frowned, confused. "Then how are you going to deal with that guy who treats you as well as you said?"

"What guy are you talking about?" I asked "The one you talked about yesterday, the one that makes you happy." I said "And what guy according to you?" she inquired confused "I don't know, the only thing I know is you said he treated you well and everything, I thought maybe you would love him."

"Because it's that boy I imagine having a relationship with." With those words I stopped walking as she kept walking forward until I guess she realizes I'm not by her side she stops and turns to look in my direction.

"Are you ok?" she asked "More or less." At that moment, she begins to approach me with a worried face, or at least with something similar to that face, and runs her hand over my face, stopping at my forehead.

"It doesn't hurt at all if that's what you're worried about." I assured her "So what's wrong with you?" she inquired confused "It's nothing, don't worry." She stared at me as if trying to know if what I was saying was true or not and then her face changed into a smile that made me wonder what so funny.

"What's funny?" I asked now "You misunderstood the thing." she responded with a laugh. "What exactly?" I asked "About the boy I described to you in the morning." she said still laughing "What about him?" I questioned still confused "That guy is you, there's no other treats me so well and I like being with him that's not you."

"Marcos fits that definition." I affirmed and she rolled her eyes "But with Marcos I don't feel other things like I do with you." she assured "What things?" I asked curiously "I still love you, Alex. I don't know how, but I still love you more than the first day."

I was already lost by myself, but as soon as those words left her lips, something inside me began to grow, happiness and the hope of returning with her and in less than a second, I approach her, I pass her the arms around her hips and I kiss her. This time he didn't fight to get free of me or anything, what's more, she put her arms behind my neck.

This was the kiss I had been waiting for too long, but as my grandmother used to say, time after time. That moment had finally arrived when I could kiss Gabriela, the great love of my life and whom I would never stop loving, without her refusing.
