Promises

"Momma, why did Uncle look so angry at that lady yesterday?" Jaxon asks his mom as they laid flowers on a pavement for the celebration.

"Well" Sheila drawled, "he was angry at her but don't always look at the surface. I heard they used to be very close friends until an unexpected event that made your uncle severe his contact with her. Just...." She faces him. "No matter what, know when to tread carefully, its your uncles fight doesn't mean its for you to fight with her.

In fact, promise me that you'll take Care of the lady's daughter like you would to your sister."

"But why momma?"

"Cos' in my visions, I saw how great and powerful they were."

"OK momma, whatever you say." He harrumphed.

Sheila offers him a smile. "You know munchkin, I love you.... So much, Right?"

"Of course momma and I also love you." His beautiful elated voice like music to her ears.

She nods at him.

"Ha! Alpha Jax, I wonder what you're doing joining in the preparations when its solely for you." Donald walks in on them.

"I decided to help Alpha Donald, To be served means to serve." Jaxon smiles at his father. "I learnt from the best."

Donald chuckles, "of course you did!" He bumps knuckles with him.

"Son, promise me..... Promise me no matter what you'll always be strong and learn to stand up back on your feet."

Donald's face became serious. His eyes holding a longing.

"Of course dad." Jaxon's smile falters.

"But what's with the promises, is something happening?" There was fear evident in his voice.

"Look son, there's always going to be the calm before the storm but doesn't mean there's not also going to be a calm after it. All it takes is an effort, the other side could be a Paradise with everything we want, doesn't mean to let go of what we have." Donald paused.

"And son, what we have right now, tomorrow, till forever is you. You are our representation, what reminds us of our best decisions, our better selves." Sheila completes it, a meek smile adorning her lips. "We love you, no matter what, either here or beyond."

"Till forever?" Donald asks holding up a fist.

"Till forever!" Even though they skipped his question, he knew there had to be a reason for it but still he was going to enjoy his moments with them. He bumps fist with his father and hugs his mother.
