What makes a man?
What makes a monster?
What makes a god?
Shindo asked himself these questions as he stared at the night sky from his favourite spot under the lone Oak tree in his backyard. He recalled his twin brother telling him how they were no more than ants in comparison the multitude of galaxies that make up the universe.
Just then, his older brother Yoshido called out to him from a distance. Shindo paid no attention to his repeated calls and continued reminiscing. After a while, he got irritated by the calls and decided to launch a surprise attack from behind the tree. As Yoshido came closer to the tree, Shindo couldn't help but feel excited about his plan.
Yoshido, a rather timid young man was a master in nine forms of hand to hand combat and had an excellent sensory ability as a result of his Arashi. So he had no trouble with evading a 16 year old's attack. When Shindo initiated the attack with an uppercut, Yoshido did a quick step-back before countering by grabbing Shindo's elevated arm, twisting it and hitting the pressure point closest to his neck, causing Shindo to slump. "You know Shin, you'll have to work on your attack speed if you want to be stronger than dad and Haku," he said before carrying Shindo's motionless body back into the family house.
The next day, Shindo began packing for his preparations for his return to Tsuki Academy. "Its really been three years already?" he asked himself as he zipped up his suitcase. "Hey Shin, breakfast's ready. Come get it while it's hot!" Yoshido shouted from the kitchen. Since their parents had died, Yoshido had become the parent in what was left of their family. "I think I'll pass! We need to get going anyway!" he shouted back. "Just get down here, eat anything even an apple and let's go!" Yoshido replied. With one great sigh, he got his stuff together, ran down stairs and did as he was told.
