He spent the entire day training in the hyper geno art he had modified, straight into the night and until the next day.

When morning arrived, Long Tian stopped training and smiled. His body felt better, his skin appear smoother and Jade-like.

It felt like he had become slightly more resilient.

Nothing compared to Xue Longyan yet, however.

This modified technique, had been granted a new name under Long Tian's baptism.

Cleaning himself up and wearing a clean outfit, Long Tian carried his chipped alloy sword at his waist and no longer wore his dented armor.

Ready, he went to the teleport station, where he found Qin Xuan waiting for him.

"You've come early," she said, smiling at that fact. "Come, I've got the details of the mission over here."

She dragged him over to her office, where she pulled out a couple of papers. Handing them over to him, she looked at him as he read the papers.

Looking over the content of the papers, Long Tian realized that it was actually a very simple mission. To go out and search for traces of mutant and sacred-blood creatures. It is a long term search where he has to be out of the shelter for a month.

He needed to search the mountains up north, beyond Tekees Mountains.

It appeared simple enough, but with how little geno points he had, it would be a dangerous for him. He could run into countless mutant and sacred-blood creatures.

'It's a challenge then!' Long Tian thought, the corner of his lips raising. If he could defeat a mutant creature at his level, that would be something great.

It would be a great way to test how skilled he currently was. However, it will be difficult to accomplish.

Aside from Xingyiquan, he didn't have any actual techniques for attacking. His was more of a support hyper geno art than an attack one, much less defense.

It toughened and improved his body, simulating his genes, helping his body make full use of his improved genes. (A/N: Some Hyper Geno Arts are basically just cultivation techniques. Some are weak or incomplete, something that will be terrible later on as they continue to practice it, but this will be explained later on.)

He needed an actual hyper geno art that can boost his attack power. A martial or auxiliary technique if you will.

Or at least a martial art for his sword or spear.

Rubbing his chin, Long Tian returned the papers to Qin Xuan.

"What will the reward be?" he asked. "Will it be money?"

Qin Xuan nodded her head.

"Money and depending on your report, maybe a surprise."

A surprise?

Long Tian smiled a little, already looking forward to it.

"Give me your sword."

Qin Xuan stood up from her chair and waved her hand at Long Tian. She received the sword from him and she gave it a look before tossing it onto her table.

"Don't use this sword too skin the creatures and prepare them as food…" Qin Xuan mentioned. She turned around and opened a cabinet, taking out a sheathed sword, a long dagger, and a hunting knife. "Take these.

They will be great on you."

Long Tian looked at the items. He reached out, grabbing the hilt of the sword and pulling slightly, revealing the blade of the sword.

"Z-Steel…"

He muttered, much to Qin Xuan's surprise.

"Yes, made of 5% Z steel. It's a sharp single edged sword. The same goes for the dagger and hunting knife," she explained. "Use the sword and dagger for killing and save the hunting knife for skinning and defining the creatures you find."

Looking at the items, Long Tian pushed the items back to Qin Xuan for a single reason. They are too damn expensive.

Z-Steel is a rare and new metal that the Alliance has discovered when they entered the interstellar era. Yet not only was the Z-steel rare and new, it was also strong.

But it was too brittle.

As of now, the alliance had only been able to combine small amounts of Z-steel with other metals. Making various alloys, but the percentage of Z-steel to the overall outcome was still fairly low, at only 10%.

"Take it as an advanced payment. I can't have you die just because you've been carrying a broken sword all this while," Qin Xuan said, rolling her eyes at Long Tian.

Sighing, Long Tian just grabbed the items and strapped them to his body.

"I'll head out now, then," Long Tian said.

Looking at Long Tian leave, Qin Xuan smiled.

Hours later, Long Tian was walking through Tekees Mountains.

"Primitive Iron-toothed crocodile meat eaten. One geno point gained."

As he walked, he munched on the meat he had gotten from an iron-toothed crocodile. He needed food for the journey, so he caught and killed one. Turning a portion into jerky and hanging it on his waist before cooking the rest and eating it.

He continued to gather herbs like usual, studying them and finding their medicinal properties.

By the end of the day, he had made it out of Tekees Mountains. The night grew dark and Long Tian stopped as well, putting himself atop a tree and closing his eyes.

He let his body rest as he meditated.

Opening his eyes the next day, Long Tian first practiced his before practicing Xingyiquan.

Returning on his search for mutant creatures, Long Tian got walking. He couldn't stay in one place too long, he needed to continue moving.

To make things interesting, he used and as he walked. Mimicking the creatures he would see, and using the to relieve his sore and aching body.

Whenever he felt his muscles begin to feel sore and ache, a cool sensation would wash over him and wash it all away.

Aside from the fact that it was relieving his sore and aching body, the was slowly improving during his constant use of it. It slowly filled up his body, preparing him to enter the next stage.

"Hm?"

Late into the night, Long Tian had stepped into a forest that was right after Tekees Mountajns. He walked into the forest and shortly after, he noticed a dark shadow in the night. Moving swiftly and with a speed greater than his, Long Tian looked at the black shadowy creature.

His eyes widened as he looked at the mutant creature before him.

It was staring back at him with vibrant purple eyes. Its appearance was like that of a panther. It growled, staring at Long Tian with a ferocious look in its eyes.

With glowing golden eyes, Long Tian suddenly wondered if he could fool the shadowy creature. Without wasting a second, he squatted low like the shadowy creature, a foot extended and a clawed hand forward.

In an instant, the air around him began to change and his eyes revealed the same ferocious look as the shadowy creature before him.

Huff!

Long Tian followed the breathing pattern of the shadowy creature and slowly let out a guttural growl.

Huh?

The shadowy creature seemed to be dumbfounded as it looked at Long Tian. As it moved its head, Long Tian followed along, mimicking every portion, as if he had become a mirror.

Long Tian seemed to have transformed right before its purple eyes. It couldn't believe that the strange creature it had seen just a second ago was actually a brethren!

Rowr!

The shadowy creature roared at Long Tian, seemingly greeting him.

Rowr!

Long Tian returned the greeting, moving along with the shadowy creature. His golden eyes were following and reading the shadowy creature closely.

The shadowy creature tilted its head and growled once more.

Rowr! (Come!)

Suddenly, Long Tian felt as if he had understood the shadowy creature as it roared. Like a subtle connection had formed between him and the shadowy creature.

Without thinking too deeply about it, Long Tian followed.

They walked around the forest, around bushes, on top of tree branches. Lithely moving around, twisting their bodies as they moved.

Suddenly, the shadowy creature stopped, seemingly sensing something. Its nose moved, sniffing something in the air.

It turned to look at Long Tian and meowed at him.

Meow! (Food!)

Hearing the shadowy creature, Long Tian unconsciously mimicked the creature as he sniffed the air. Although faint, he really did smell the scent of another creature nearby.

The creature moved and he followed right behind it. Their steps silent as they moved under the moonlight, heading to the place where they found the scent to be the strongest.

Then, under the light of the moon, Long Tian found a badger-like creature eating at the roots of a tree. Separating, Long Tian and the shadowy creature moved in unison to encircle the badger creature.

As Long Tian got close, he suddenly realized that the badger-like creature was a mutant creature. It got a raised eyebrow from him, but he didn't stop moving.

Without hesitation, whilst the badger creature was still unaware, he struck forward. He pulled out his dagger and stabbed it in his neck. His movements were direct and spontaneous, his attack like a ferocious bite.

He experience a little resistance when he stabbed, but the sharpness of the knife was too good. It pierced its neck and cut through many important parts.

Hiiiih!

The badger creature tried resisting, but Long Tian had long expected it. He twisted the dagger and used his free hand to push the badger creature to the floor.

Chi!

"Mutant Long-clawed beast killed. No beast soul gained. Eat the flesh to gain 0 to 10 geno points randomly."

Smiling, Long Tian got to cutting the creature apart and skinning it. Letting the blood drip out.

Meow! (Strange!)

The shadowy creature jumped out of the darkness and over to Long Tian. Its appearance was revealed by the moonlight and it looked at Long Tian warily.

It was looking at Long Tian with a snarling expression, baring its teeth at him. The familiar yet unfamiliar being before him was doing actions that it has never seen before. Why was this shadowy creature tearing the beast apart, why not just eat it?

Wary and cautious, the shadowy creature didn't know what to do. So all it did was rely on its feelings and remain away from Long Tian.

Long Tian casted a glance at it, not giving it any special attention as he continued the bleed out the meat of the long-clawed beast.

Grabbing a couple of sticks and dry leaves under the wary gaze of the shadowy creature, Long Tian began making a fire.

Fwoosh!

The fire lit up and the shadowy creature jumped.

Afraid of the unknown, the shadowy creature can only bare its fangs at Long Tian. It turned to him and was about to strike when it saw the 'shadowy creature' Long Tian open its mouth.

Meow! (Food!)

The shadowy creature paused and only continued to snarl before stopping. It kept its gaze vigilant on Long Tian, looking at him as it moved to the side, close to the darkness of the forest and away from the fire.

It kept its head up, staring at Long Tian.

Not minding the look, Long Tian continued to prepare the meat. Pulled out his bag of plants and herbs, filled to the brim. He looked at the large amount of herbs and plants before turning to the shadowy creature.

Smiling, he selected a few herbs and began crushing and mixing them before pasting it onto the meat.

The herbs and plants didn't seem to be special, but it was only that their effects were weak. If one had proper equipment, or skills, they would be able to make great use of these herbs and plants.

Without knowing the effects of these plants and herbs, there was no way for the Alliance to know how to turn these plants and herbs into medicine or anything similar.

So far, Long Tian had already surpassed the Alliance in this regard. He was making food with these herbs and plants, it was still a while before he could make any medicine or drugs.

He hadn't studied that yet after all.
