Chapter 35 The Whole Island

Soon, on the main street of the dock, all the islanders witnessed a shocking scene.

A nearly 4-meter Giant was parading through the city, dragging a Vampire corpse wrapped in pink curtains, dark red blood soaking the stone pavement of the ground. Leaving behind an appalling "red carpet."

The islanders on the street all stepped aside, standing next to it with faces of panic.

Among the crowd, some people saw this and quickly turned to leave.

Seeing their reactions, Charles let out a cold laugh, those guys were probably Vampire spies.

He wanted exactly this kind of intimidation power. What were the Vampires in comparison to the terror of Earth Sea? To him, these guys were merely child's play.

The red carpet on the ground stretched all the way from the brothel to the police booth on the dock.

"Hey, you guys aren't managing this island very well," Charles, masked, reprimanded them with the arrogance of a superior. "So many things have infiltrated in, and you haven't noticed. How do you handle matters?"

The two on-duty policemen were sweating profusely as they looked at the chaotic bodies on the ground.

"Is it very hot?" Charles, still masked, pressed his face close up.

"No... no!" A chubby policeman involuntarily recoiled.

"I've essentially handled a problem for you, shouldn't there be some sort of gesture? I reckon there are still hidden Vampires at the dock; you better find them quickly. I'm still missing a few crew members."

Looking at the pile of bodies at the front gate, neither of them dared to say anything else and immediately agreed to inform their superiors.

As soon as Charles left, the chubby policeman urgently said to his colleague, "Quick! Go notify the chief, those newcomers have killed Durand!"

"Captain, will those black-skinned dogs help us find the others?" asked Krona, clutching his wrist.

"If I ruled this island," replied Charles, "I would never allow an Alien Race to wantonly suck the blood of humans on my territory."

Charles, having taken off his mask, looked somewhat grave. "That's not the key issue. Given how brazen those Vampires were, this island is not peaceful. We need to leave as quickly as possible. Come on, let's go check out the repair shipyard now."

"Sir, why have you come? Didn't I tell you it would take a month?" Amid the noisy repair shipyard, the foreman with the blueprints hurriedly greeted him.

"Can it be done any faster? Echo Coins are not a problem."

Charles didn't want any unnecessary complications; he just needed the turbine to get back to Coral Island. Once on his own turf, he could calmly replace it with a new one.

On hearing Charles's words, the foreman's face showed difficulty, "This really puts me in a tough spot..."

He had just started speaking when a worker came by, whispering something in his ear.

The foreman's expression changed instantly, looking at Charles with eyes filled with fear. "Sir... three days at most! I'll fit the best turbine we have for you. Just three days."

Although Charles didn't know what the worker had said, he could clearly feel the change in his attitude.

Having achieved his goal, Charles didn't bother to say more. After giving a few simple instructions, he left.

"Prepare everything. As soon as the turbine is fixed, we'll set off."

"What about Jack and the others?" Deep asked about the other missing crew members.

"We can't worry about that much now. If the ship is fixed and they haven't been found by the police by then, their chances are likely slim."

While Charles was talking with the crew, Lily, perched on his shoulder, said with some surprise, "Mr. Charles, look, it's that painter!"

Charles looked up to see the disfigured blind painter.

Stumbling towards them, the painter sniffed around as he walked.

Charles instinctively felt that this guy must be looking for him.

"What's up?" Charles approached and asked.

Charles's sudden question startled the painter, then a trace of joy appeared on his horrific face.

"Sir, I've finally found you. Actually, at Helen Square, I wanted to tell you, but there were too many people there, and I—"

"Get to the point." Charles cut him off.

Lowering his voice, the blind man hunched his shoulders and said, "Sir, I have some vital information regarding your safety. I want to use this information in exchange for a spot on your ship to leave this hellish place. I can't stand it here anymore; everyone bullies me."

Although Charles didn't know what the man was secretly up to, he obviously agreed to such a one-sided bargain; precisely, he needed more local information. "Let's hear it."

"I know you are formidable, but please leave as soon as possible. The police have reported the killing of Durand, and the higher-ups have sent two Dukes to deal with the trouble. If you wait for them to get here, you won't be able to leave at all!"

"Dukes? What exactly are you talking about?" Charles furrowed his brow.

The blind man, agitated, gesticulated rapidly with both hands. "Not only those guys you killed are Vampires! In fact, the entire island's population is Vampires; this is their headquarters! Black Crystal Island!"

This revelation stunned everyone on the Unicorne, and their faces were filled with shock. They widened their eyes, looking at the surrounding islanders.

"Everyone?"

"Yes, everyone, including me."

The blind man finished his sentence and opened his mouth wide, revealing his sharp Vampire fangs that gleamed with a chilling light.

Charles's face turned extremely sour. If there were just some Vampires, it wouldn't be such a terrifying situation, but if the entire island was, then they were like meat on a cutting board.

He had thought he was finally escaping to heaven, but to his dismay, he had entered a den of wolves.

"If they're all in it together, then just now..."

A sudden realization came over Charles, and he hurriedly returned to the repair shipyard with the rest of the crew.

As soon as he entered, he bumped into the foreman.

"Aren't you supposed to be rushing my ship repair? Why are you still hanging around outside?" Each of the crew members wore a hostile expression.

"Erm... I... I..."

Charles didn't bother to explain and ordered the crew to seal all the entrances and gather everyone in the shipyard.

Looking at the foreman whose demeanor was ever-changing, Charles said, "No need to pretend anymore; that guy has already told us. You're part of the group with those outside, aren't you? I'm certain that my ship has been sitting here untouched by you guys."

"Traitor!!" The foreman, in a rage, revealed his gruesome true form and lunged at the blind man, but was met with a Black Blade still stained with blood held in front of his face.
