"Though the World Crown island has few inhabitants, there are also some nobles," Anna said as she walked along the street mushroom-strewn with her maid. "They live above the giant mushrooms, managing all of these peasants below. They collect the taxes as well."
"On such laborer's lives they make money? They're truly corrupt," Charles said.
Anna nodded in agreement. "You're right, these people are despicable. Such profit-driven places should be mine instead."
Anna, with her servant in tow, continued along the main road.
In the port district, there were rickshaws for hire, but she did not take one; she needed to measure her new domain on foot.
Below the World Crown, it was not all fields; there were also some small, low houses scattered among the fields, where the peasants lived.
Anna walked in and saw, aside from some mushrooms growing in the corners, the place was empty and void of people.
