62. Reunion 2

Ritu settled down with a flip of her hair. Parijat also took his seat, rubbing his cheeks which had become red like cherries.

"Go and put some ice on it." Olivia said with a sigh upon seeing an aggrieved Parijat rubbing his cheeks which had puffed up like a hamster's.

"Hmph! You don't care about me at all. Why pretend now? Where were you when I was called for help?" He turned his face away, looking like an abandoned puppy.

Olivia sighed and got up. She took his hand and led him to the refrigerator, then took out a liquid coldpack and gently applied it on his swollen cheeks. But Parijat moved his head away, still upset that Olivia did not support him but Ritu. The coldpack Olivia was using was not portable, hence it was connected to the refridgerator to maintain temperature. The connecting wire was really short so it became difficult for Olivia to apply the cold compress on Parijat as he kept shifting away.

"You provoked her and got beaten up on your own responsibility." Olivia tried to reason with him.

Parijat did not talk.

Olivia stayed silent for a while and then said, pretending to be indifferent, "You don't want your handsome face to become normal? Okay. Those natural blushes do look good on you."

She pointed at his red, swollen cheeks and continued, "And you seem to like them so much that you won't let me apply the coldpack on them. Fine, I'll get going."

Olivia pretended to leave.

"No, wait." Parijat clung to her and moved his face forward.

Olivia shook her head and her lips curled up in an barely noticeable smile.

Once done treating his cheeks, she flicked his forehead and said, "You two never learn the meaning of living in peace."

Parijat gave a goofy grin and put his arms over her shoulders as they walked towards their seats.

They had an age difference of only a few months still Olivia was regarded as the elder sister by Ritutandra and Parijat. Then came Ritu, Parijat's second elder sister and at last was he, the youngest, goofy little brother of the two girls. Every time Ritu and Parijat fought, which was basically seventy per cent of the time they were together, Olivia had to break the human-shaped bulls apart. Their most common topic for fight was whom Olivia loved more. Most of the time they were like little kids, always fighting over their elder sister's attention but the one trait that united them was their awful protectiveness of Olivia.

"Someone was crying a moment ago and look how elated he is after getting his sister's attention. Tsk. Should our classmates witness this scene, I guarantee they are bound to faint from shock. I wonder how those admirers of someone who see him as a lion will react if they knew he is such a Koala around his sister." Abhirup pinched Parijat with his words.

"What did you say? Care to repeat?" Parijat teleported near Abhirup in the blink of an eye and said looming over him with a friendly smile.

"Did I say something? I don't remember." Abhirup acted like Parijat was talking nonsense.

"Baby, did you hear me say something?" He hugged Surjo and said, resting his chin on the latter's shoulder.

Surjo felt Abhirup's hot breath on his face and said, clearing his throat, "Ahem. N...no. I didn't hear anything."

A small blush crept up his cheeks.

"That's my boyfriend. You're absolutely right." Abhirup gave Surjo's lips a peck and continued drinking.

Parijat gave their PDA a disgusted look and went back to his seat.

"Pari, why don't you write a BL novel? You'll get plenty of inspiration and ideas from live scenarios." The girl sitting on the sofa beside Abhirup said, grimacing at the amount of dog food the couple was throwing at them.

Her blunt-bob hair framed her oval-shaped face. Her dark brown skin contrasted with the transparent glass she held in her hand. She was so dark that she almost blended in the shady corner with only her amber eyes glistening like that of a wolf.

"Not a bad idea, Trayee. I should also use them as models for the cover page. And I think I should note down points from these live events for juicy content." Parijat nodded while seriously considering Trayee's jab at the couple.

"Are you jealous of my hot boyfriend?" Abhirup asked with a smirk.

Surjo blushed hard upon hearing him and tried to bury his head in his glass. Abhirup noticed his red ears and gave them a light kiss.

Trayee promptly responded, "Nope. I just don't like eating this much dog food in a day, every day."

The serious and firm expression on her face conveyed the torture she suffered regularly from the dog food attack.

Abhirup coughed and said softly with a little pout, "We don't flirt that much,"

Trayee sneered, "Yes, sure, of course. It's just that you'd probably start making out right here if possible."

Abhirup cleared his throat while Surjo's face turned red like ketchup. He was so grateful that the room was not brightly lit and that they were seated in a relatively darker corner. Else, if someone saw him right then, they would think he came after dipping his face in red paint.

"Oh, Olly, I forgot to mention earlier with your mood being off and all. Anyway," Trayee suddenly turned to Olivia remembering something.

"Nilu called yesterday to say that she won the tournament."

Nilu was the nickname of Nilambori, another member of their group. She was away due to a fencing tournament she participated in. Since Ritutandra, Parijat and Olivia were on a mission, she did not call them but the rest to share the news.

"Mhmm. I had no doubt about it." Olivia nodded.

Although she did not say much, there was a gentle and proud look on her face, hearing about her friend's achievement. They knew how talented their friend was so the result was not surprising to any of them. Rather, they took it as a reason to celebrate once Nilambori came back.
