During break time, Olivia was called to the Principal's office.
Noticing the person sitting on the chair, she closed her eyes for a moment before staring straight at him, "What happened?"
The Principal, who standing aside, gulped. Although he was not new to this scenario, he felt amused each time he witnessed it. She was the only one who dared to talk to the second most powerful authority in Zeal so casually. There were also the equally crazy friends of hers, still, she topped them all in speaking to the A.G like family. He sometimes wondered whether they were actually related and were hiding it.
"I'm here to make sure you don't slip away, you trickster." the Administrator General said with a smile.
Olivia took a seat with a sigh. That smile never bode anything well. She crossed her legs and placed a hand on her knee, cupping her face on the palm. Then with jerk of her head, she motioned for the Principal to speak.
"You'll have to work actively as the School Captain. Represent the school in various competitions. And you'll also have to act as the assistant trainer." He said.
"As long as you fulfill my conditions, remember?" Olivia stated.
"And what are those?" The Principal asked.
"I haven't thought all of them yet." Olivia shrugged.
The A.G narrowed his eyes.
"Just so you know, you can't lay unlimited conditions. Five is your limit."
"Number one, I won't attend the morning assembly. Number two, I'll get to skip events for valid reasons. Number three, I can use the remaining conditions anytime and they should be granted." Olivia said without missing a beat.
The Administrator General gritted his teeth looking at the sly smile on her face.
'Have'nt thought about them my foot!'
He should have known she was baiting him to spill the exact number of conditions she was allowed. In his rush to prevent her from using endless conditions, forgot that the person before him would twist any rule to suit herself. He should have allowed her just one choice.
'Well, I'm not one to go down so easily either. If you can bend rules I can enforce them.'
"As long as you attend at least ten events I'm fine with your conditions." He raised his chin with a challenging look.
Olivia also titled her head as if accepting his challenge.
Meanwhile, the Principal was standing on the side observing their silent conversation and thinking what was even there for.
Olivia was entering her class when she heard a boy's voice, "She must've been called to the Principal's office because her score was too low to show on the screen. He's probably giving her a warning. Haha. What else can it be? She's already been demoted and just waiting for expulsion."
He was the one who previously picked on her and got into a fight with Anisha.
Everyone has been speculating the reason Olivia was called to the Principal's office ever since the announcement was made on the speaker but he seemed to be the most invested person in the discussion.
Olivia was trying to pass him when he grabbed her hand and jeered, "Hey senior, what did the Principal say to you? Are going to get expelled? Awwww. I'll miss you."
"Don't touch." Olivia swatted his hand.
"Why are you acting so prickly? Is you skin made of gold? Will you disintegrate from my touch?"
And with that, he tried to hug her.
In the next second, everyone gasped at the crack sound while the boy screamed, holding his dislocated wrist. However, before he could scream his pain out, he was lifted off his seat. Olivia had grabbed his jaw with one hand and held him hanging in the air, making incoherent sounds.
"Don't f*cking touch me," Olivia said in a low voice, emphasizing each word.
Her usual sleepy eyes gleamed with a bone-chilling coldness that sent a shiver down his spine.
When she released him from that height, he landed heavily on his back and almost sent the person behind him tumbling down. Olivia went to her seat without sparing a second glance at him. The students, who were earlier crowding around the scene, made way for her in fear.
"O my Goddess, she's so strong!"
"Geez. She's so violent!"
"Oh no, have I ever offended her?"
Meanwhile Olivia was scolding herself in her mind, 'Damn it! Why did I lose my cool! I acted like a street loser who picks a fight with anyone that takes a jab at them. That was absolutely not done!'
Once again she became the topic of discussion but Olivia turned a deaf ear to all that. As long as no random person came to touch her out of the blue, she was fine with them running their mouths. Most importantly, it was not the time to think about what those irrelevant people were saying about her but what punishment awaited her once the A.G got a report of this incident. She already dreaded their next meeting. There seemed to be a particular flood of bad luck around her lately. One punishment was not over yet when another piled on top.
Koushik, having witnessed the scene too, whistled as she came nearer.
"Oohh. You were so cool!"
Olivia ignored him and jerked her head to the side. Growing accustomed to her prefering gestures above words, Koushik moved aside, making way for her to get in.
"You know..." he started.
"No." Came her curt reply.
"Ah! Will you let me finish?"
Olivia kept quiet.
"So, where was I? Oh yeah, there. So, I told you about my friend from my previous school, right?" Koushik asked.
Olivia nodded.
"She was also bullied by some of the students in her class, mainly by a particular girl. But she wasn't strong enough to fight back. When I saw you lifting that boy up like a bag, I just thought that if she had a friend like you, then maybe she could've learnt some ways to defend herself. Then she wouldn't have had to keep tolerating the torture in fear of more."
Olivia noticed the glow in his eyes and how his lips automatically titled up when he talked about his friend.
"You have a crush on her." She stated, flipping through a book.
"What? N.. no. Not at all. W.. what nonsense." Koushik denied.
He then paused and added in a whisper, "Maybe a little. Just a little."
Olivia heard him but did not comment.
"Listen, did anyone named Ankita join Ketu? You're the School Captain, so you should know, right?" Koushik abruptly sprang towards her, thinking of something.
He was so focused on getting the answer that he did not realise how close he brought his face to hers.
Olivia turned towards him without shrinking back. This closed the gap between them even more. Her eyes roamed across his face, taking in the details with great appreciation of how much care he put in maintaining his looks. As her gaze moved from his lips, which he was biting in anticipation to her answer, to his beautiful, fluffy, curly hair, she felt an itch to run her hands through them.
"None." She said, averting her face.
'He is like a well-groomed poodle. Wanna touch that furry head.' She thought while staring at her book.
"You did not even think!" Koushik complained.
"I don't need to. I know what I said." She said.
"Maybe you missed?" He asked, still carrying a candle of hope that Olivia was trying so hard to blow away with her blizzard-like answes.
No reply came. Koushik realised there was no use asking, her answer would be the same. He pouted and stretched his arms, leaning his torso across the Board. Olivia could visualise a pair of poodle's long ears on Koushik, drooping as he sulked with a pitiful look in his eyes. She so wanted to ruffle those curls, it was so tempting but she restricted herself thinking about his feelings at that moment.
'Discipline familyf*cker. Discipline!' She mentally chided herself.
