CHAPTER 28

  The meal is served.

  Our meal arrived and we talked more over the dinner, our conversation totally chaste and yet so intense. It felt like we had known each other for many years. When it was time to leave, he leaned over to me and said.

  "I want to see you again. You have the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen and your vibe is contagious. I enjoyed talking to you."

  Conscious of my heart and body beginning to betray me under his passionate gaze, I spoke as casually as I could.

  "Well, call me then."

  "Most definitely, Maddison," he said.

  We both stood up and he drew me into a hug. His arms felt like home. I wanted to melt into him and bask in the scent of his perfume but I pulled back immediately.

  "Good night, Johnson.''

  Before we knew it Angel's wedding was a week away, and I couldn't be happier. Months of preparation, sharing ideas, agreeing on plans, and then changing them, would finally come to an end in a week.
