CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO
As soon as the meeting is over, I don’t return to my room, instead making a detour for the stairs.
Before I can take the first step down, however, a large hand grabs me the wrist stopping me.
I look over my shoulder to see Lucas standing behind me, his face tight, “Where are you going?”
A part of me wants to snap at him and tell him it’s none of his business but our relationship has been on a steady decline ever since I said I’d come to this village myself. I don’t want to make things worse.
However, I do pull my hand away, rubbing my wrist, “I’ll be back.”
“You just told us there were disappearances and now you want to go out for a walk?” He demands, his voice dangerous.
I clench my jaw and start walking, “I’ll be fine.”
