My True Mate

“It – That’s not me!” Valerie shrieks out and I can see that she’s panicking.


I points towards the screen, “That’s your face.”


“You did this!” Her voice is high-pitched as she turns to me. “You manipulated – You –“


Jared is the pack technician and he frowns, “Sarah didn’t do anything. She hasn’t even touched the footage. All she did was ask me to plant cameras in all the most vulnerable areas of the den, including her quarters.”


I see the blood drain out of Valerie’s face, “W-What?”


Even Hunter’s jaw turns tight, “You did this without my permission?”


Jared raises a brow, “Didn’t need your permission. Clara and the pack healer agreed that it would offer more security to the pack.”


I smile broadly, meeting Hunter’s gaze, and my voice is soft, “Why don’t you show the footage from my room?”


“No!” Valerie bursts out and all eyes turn towards her.


David and Marcus, the pack elders, look uneasy.
