Chapter Forty Four

CHAPTER FORTY FOUR

“A witch in town,” I murmur, as we sit at the table.

“I’m more worried about the wolfsbane Marcus purchased,” Lucas says, darkly. “He's not given it to anyone yet. But you might be the intended victim again.”

I don’t think that’s the case.

I’m far too much in the limelight right now. And all previous attempts have failed so far. Anything that happens to me now wouldn’t be possible because the pack will have my back.

“I think we need to return,” I say.

She holds out a shimmering rock to Lucas, “This will bring you to me. Throw it in the closest water body you can reach and I’ll come.”

Lucas had told me that she could see into the future as well sometimes but right now, I don't want to ask what she saw. There's already too much burden on me.
