Chapter One Hundred and Eighty Six

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SIX

“This is the town?”

It’s an ordinary looking place if you don’t account for the massive mountain behind it. I now understand why they call it the mountain forest.

From where we’re standing it looks like any other town. But for some reason, my skin is crawling. There is something about this place which is telling me to turn around and go back. The urge is so strong that I almost find myself turning around when Damien grabs me, “Don’t give in to it.”

His eyes have a sharp look to them and I meet his gaze, troubled, “I don’t think we should be here.”

“I know,” he holds me close, his lips brushing against my temple.

He does that a lot now. These sweet touches. Damien likes to touch me or find a reason to kiss me. His affection had always been of the aggressive sort but ever since we finally mated, it feels like something in him calmed down.

I don’t hate it.
