Book 10: Part 10 – News of Amira’s Parents

At the same time, in the Divine Realm of Darkness, Druelle's husband, Ballmer, who was in closed-door meditation pondering over the laws of his second clone, suddenly opened his eyes after sensing what happened to his Will-based projection that was protecting his son's Divine Clone of Darkness.

Seconds later, his son, pale-faced and distraught, burst through his doors. A crazed light flickered in the depths of his eyes as he begged his father to avenge him.

Ballmer didn't respond immediately. As Ace destroyed his projection, he sensed that, like his son, Ace was also a Full God who had not only begun fusing all six mysteries of his chosen law, but as a paragon of the laws of fire himself, Ballmer could sense that Ace had comprehended over three quarters.

In his experience, anyone who had reached such a level was more than likely someone with an extremely powerful faction supporting him. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't put a name to the face.

In the end, he asked Joleon who he was. When he found out that Ace was actually a descendant of the Vis Clan, he couldn't help but curse his son and daughter for their rash and foolish decision to not only keep it from him but, more importantly, from the Sovereign they all served.

Not caring about his son's grief, he grabbed Joleon by the neck before shooting off towards a castle of darkness where the sovereign he served was located.

When he arrived, a youth who appeared no older than 12, who radiated a terrifying dark aura, welcomed him inside. The terrifying child was Phueus – The Chief sovereign of darkness.

It had to be understood that among Sovereigns, for each Law and Edict, there were three different levels. First, there were the four Lesser Sovereigns of each Law and Edict, like Beirut, Bluefire, and Ismarelda. Though they were far more powerful than even the most powerful of paragons, they were still the weakest among sovereigns.

Next were the two Intermediate Sovereigns for each Law and Edict, like one of the two who approached Killian hoping to take him in as an emissary. Intermediate Sovereigns were far stronger than Lesser Sovereigns, but even they could only look up to the respective Chief Sovereigns.

There was only a single Chief Sovereign for each Law and Edict, and each one had the power to take on all Four Lesser Sovereigns and both Intermediate Sovereigns at the same time.

Phueus was precisely one of those truly almighty beings.

Most would never even get the chance to enter Phueus's sphere of influence, let alone enter directly without being killed, but as a paragon-level subordinate, Ballmer, of course, had special privileges. Still, when Phueus heard that there was a member of the Vis Clan as talented as Ace running free, his killing intent flared.

Although Joleon wasn't technically an emissary of the Sovereign, he could be considered on the shortlist. As a supreme genius who wasn't far off from becoming a paragon, Phueus thought very highly of Joleon. Still, at that moment, he couldn't care less that a potential paragon emissary was now dead. In fact, he had half a mind to kill Joleon where he stood to vent the rage in his heart, and he would've had it not been for the fact that Ballmer, Joleon's father, was one of his most powerful subordinates.

In the end, Phueus merely snorted before disappearing from his spot and entering directly into the chaotic void to hurry over to the Celestial Realm.

At the same time, back in the Celestial Realm, the field of darkness had just solidified around Druelle, Ace, Amira, and Fu'Raz.

Killian and the others were staring anxiously at Garot, who was using his Will-infused supreme techniques and even his Will-infused Divine Ability to repeatedly attack the barrier. Unfortunately, despite being a paragon-level apex Divine Beast, Garot's all-out strikes barely created a ripple on the barrier's surface.

It was then that another mysterious elderly man descended under the surprised gazes of everyone present, bar Garot. It was the same elderly man who had appeared at the site of the seal after Garot, Ace, and the others had left.

Garot glared at the old man before saying he was surprised he dared to show his face in front of him after sealing him back then. After all, he's no longer the same ordinary High God he was back then – referring to the fact that he was now also a paragon.

Verano smiled and replied that Garot had never been an ordinary High God – referring to the fact that as an Apex Divine Beast, Garot was anything but ordinary, even before becoming a Paragon.

Garot snorted and replied that may be true, but now that he was a paragon, not even he (Verano) was his match.

Verano nodded and said with his innate abilities as an Apex Divine Beast, he may well be one of the most powerful Paragons that's ever lived, but if he killed him now, he'd never be able to rescue those two little Full Gods inside.

Hearing Verano's words, Killian and the others turned to Verano and asked if he really had a way to save Ace and Amira.

In response, Verano shook his head, explaining that the barrier was a pseudo-sovereign-Domain. It's a device that creates what's effectively a miniature Divine Realm that can be used to trap deities formed of the energy of a Sovereign.

In this case, Druelle used it to trap Ace inside so she could avenge her son without being stopped by Garot, whom Fu'Raz likely informed was present.

Unfortunately, as deities, not only can we not break in, we can't even see what's happening inside. In fact, not even other Sovereigns would be able to peer inside with their respective Godrealms. The most they could do was break the barrier.

When he said that, Verano expected Killian and the others to show even more anxiousness. But reality painted a very different picture.

The moment they heard that not even a sovereign could peer inside, everyone sighed in relief. Garot and Verano wouldn't know, but as their closest and best friends, Killian and the others were well aware of just how much Amira and Ace had been holding back out of fear of being noticed by other Sovereigns.

Forget Druelle; even if Fu'Raz turned out to be an enemy, with Ace and Amira together, they wouldn't be surprised if Fu'Raz – a genuine paragon – was forced to pay the ultimate price.

At the same time, inside the field of darkness, both Ace and Amira were a little worried, having been caught in an unknown variable. Still, they took comfort from the fact that whatever happened, they would be able to face it together.

It was then that Druelle gave what could only be described as her "early victory speech", explaining that she knew that Garot hadn't really left for the Infernal Realm as they attempted to lead people to believe, understanding that the "Garot" that had left for the Infernal Realm was probably his Divine Clone, but not only would the real Garot not be able to help them, no one, not even a sovereign, would be able to see what happened inside the field of darkness.

Hearing that, both husband and wife smiled in relief. With their current strength, even if they didn't reveal their true power, they no longer had any reason to fear Druelle, especially when together.

No, the one who truly worried them was the paragon who arrived on the scene with Druelle. For an expert at that level, they wouldn't be able to hold back in the slightest, and now, even if he did turn out to be an enemy, they would be able to go all out with peace of mind.

That was when Fu'Raz, whose eyes had been going back and forth from Ace to Amira and back to Ace again, spoke out for the first time.

It was more like he was mumbling to himself, but his words made Ace's eyes narrow.

When the field of darkness first activated, Druelle had been so focused on Ace and making sure he didn't escape that she didn't even realise Amira had entered until she landed by Ace's side. But Fu'Raz had, not only was he shocked by her speed, which had actually approached his. What really shocked him was the angel wings and halo that manifested on her body.

Fu'Raz noted aloud that she looked a lot like the angels of the Divine Plane of Light, but that was impossible as all of the angels of the Divine Light Plane were under the strict command of the seven sovereigns of light who would never allow to roam free. The only other explanation was that she was a real angel, but that made even less sense as the last angel seen was reported to have died a little over 1300 years ago.

He then mumbled how it was odd that her angel bloodline acted more like the Visual Manifestation of the Vis Clan, but if that were really the case, then her bloodline would be of a higher level than Ace's…

That was when it clicked, and Fu'Raz began laughing hysterically. His following words made Amira's eyes widen uncontrollably. He said that she looked a lot like her mother!

Druelle asked what he meant, feeling as though she was missing something. To which Fu'Raz told her to look closely before asking, "Doesn't she look like both Cecelia and Larkel Viz?"

Hearing that, Druelle's eyes widened as she finally saw the resemblance.
