Book 12: Part 9 – Left Behind

[Spiritual Sun Pulse] is a technique that utilised Law of Fire's Profound Mysteries of the Essence of Fire, Heat Spiritual Flames, and Explosions. It creates a burning shockwave originating from the user's soul that burns all spiritual essence it comes in contact with.

Still, although thanks to the [Observation] aspect of his bloodline, Ace's soul had reached the level of a commander – a heaven-defying feat for a Full God in and of itself – it shouldn't be possible for him to incinerate the soul of just about any commander, let alone one like Lumix whose soul was stronger than most others at his level.

But what no one knew was that Ace's new and improved Golden Sun Manifestation didn't just simply give him the ability to use the fused Divine Power of Fire and Light despite not having a Divine Clone of Light; when in use, it effectively made him a two-way soul mutate, meaning that it wasn't just his Divine Essence that received a tenfold improvement, it was also his soul.

His material attacks may not have reached the level of an Invincible Commander, but his spiritual attacks sure had!

Ace's cold and indifferent eyes scanned the crowd before falling on Armundel, who had previously wanted to intervene in the seemingly pointless battle, and asked if he was next.

Like Lumix, Armundel was a commander who was infinitely close to the paragon realm. He may not have a terrifying bloodline ability to rely on, but he was still a terrifying figure among commanders. Still, he was under no delusions – he knew full well that he was no match for Ace.

He hurriedly shook his head and explained that his father had asked them to set up a test for him should he arrive, and as long as he displayed the power of an invincible commander, the position of Lord Prefect would be handed to him.

Hearing that, Ace merely snorted before leaving, still in no mood to conversate unnecessarily. Instead, he made his way, under the shocked eyes of all those still powerful enough to spectate, into the City Lord's Palace as though it were his home.

Everyone watched, still reeling from their shock, as Ace waltzed so brazenly into the home of the Augusta Clan. Still, none were more shocked than the descendants of the Augusta Clan themselves.

They were deeply conflicted. On the one hand, they wanted to avenge the loss and death of their former patriarch, but on the other hand, they knew that they weren't a match for Ace – he was too much of a monster.

Although they would definitely be able to defeat and eventually kill Ace with their overwhelming numbers, they would undoubtedly pay a terrifying price in the process. Had their leaders given the order, they still would've attacked, but with none saying anything, they all simply watched as Ace disappeared inside what had been, at the start of the day, their own home.

When Ace reached what appeared to be the City Lord's private office, he slumped into the chair, casually resting his feet on the desk and staring blankly at the wall, wondering what to do next.

There were still a few months before the Planar Battlefield was due to open, and for the first time in over a thousand years, not only did he not have any particular pressing matters to deal with, but he was all alone.

He sighed and prepared to get up and practice his glaivesmanship. Although he more than likely wouldn't be able to make any significant breakthroughs between now and then, training was the only thing he could do, but before he could begin, a familiar, lofty figure appeared beside Ace.

Ace calmly turned to face Augusta before asking if he was there to avenge his son, to which Augusta indifferently replied that he had no interest in whether any of his children lived or died.

The indifference he displayed when talking about his children, the most talented of whom Ace had just killed personally, shocked Ace.

Unfortunately, Augusta had no interest in Ace's shock, as he continued by nodding with a hint of appreciation, acknowledging that Ace had barely progressed at the speed one needed to be with "little Mira," but warned Ace not to get too full of himself – the level of an Invincible Commander would be far from enough to accomplish the challenge he'd set for Ace.

Ace didn't respond to the Chief Sovereign's statement. Instead, he asked if he could see his wife before he entered.

Augusta stared into Ace's eyes, his pressure bearing down on Ace. Still, Ace didn't bat so much as an eyelid as he patiently awaited his response. In the end, Augusta agreed. Although he seemed indifferent to Ace's blinding speed of progression, the truth was, he was anything but! The speed Ace was growing at was enough to outshine both of Amira's parents, something he thought was impossible till now. The least he could do was let the two spend a little time together before Ace had to leave again.

With a casual wave of his hand, Augusta transported himself and Ace to the miniature Divine Light Realm he had just finished creating.

Looking straight ahead, Ace saw his wife sitting in a meditative state, still undergoing her enlightenment. Even though he couldn't speak to or touch her – unwilling to interrupt her – just being near her was enough to ease his heart.

Augusta could only sigh in amazement at the effects of soulmates. Ace wasn't the only one happy about their reunion – despite being in a trance-like state, the corners of Amira's mouth crept up as she subconsciously felt her husband's presence nearby.

Ace and Augusta waited silently for another week before Amira finally opened her eyes.

Augusta knew that Amira's progress was likely nothing to scoff at, but he had no way of telling just how far she'd come, but Ace didn't have that problem. Not only were the two of their souls connected, but with his [Observation] infused Godrealm, he could get a clear understanding of the level of comprehension of all mortals and deities.

He could see that although her comprehension of the Laws of Wind hadn't made any progress – still having only finished fusing five of the six profound mysteries of the laws of wind – her comprehension of the Laws of Light – which had originally been her weaker law – had skyrocketed to the point where she had comprehended around 90% of *True Light*.

Seeing how when she woke up, Amira only had eyes for Ace, Augusta cleared his throat and calmly explained that the Planar Battlefield would open in four months, so they had until then to catch up.

As soon as Augusta left, Ace and Amira spent the following few months enjoying each other's company as though they were newlyweds. They didn't spend a single minute training, but as it came to the end of the four-month period, Ace felt that his spirit felt lighter than ever before – he knew this would likely be his hardest challenge to date, but he also felt more confident than ever before – for the sake of his wife, there was nothing he was incapable of!

During their time together, Ace brought up Lumix and his apparent Angel Bloodline.

Although he knew it was all but impossible, as far as he knew, the only way for such a thing to happen would be if Lumix and Amira were siblings or rather half-siblings.

The thought had obviously crossed his mind before he killed Lumix, and he didn't regret his decision – anyone who dared to have such lewd thoughts about his wife deserved death, brother or not.

Still, when he told Amira, she reassured him that they weren't truly related. She explained that, according to Augusta, Lumix had once done a favour for the Vampire Clan before they were wiped out. In doing so, he had received a certain treasure that allowed one to acquire the bloodline of another.

Because of that treasure and his talent, Augusta had agreed to give Lumix a drop of the blood her mother had given Augusta to make the Angels that he relied so heavily on.

The night before the Planar Battlefield, Augusta appeared in the Divine Light of Realm the couple had decided to make home, to make sure Ace was ready.

It was then that Ace brought up the matter of Beirut and asked for him to return his freedom.

Seeing the frown on Augusta's face, Amira put on her cutest expression and pleaded on Beirut's behalf as well. Ultimately, Augusta reluctantly agreed that, as long as Ace was successful, Beirut, as well as the other Sovereigns of the Yulan Plane, could have their freedom back.

The next day, Augusta and Amira personally sent Ace off to "The Gates of Heaven" – The Divine Light Plane's point of entry for the Planar Battlefield.

After a touching farewell, Ace told them both to wait for his good news before descending.

Watching him leave, Amira couldn't help but tighten her fists restlessly – wishing she could go with him. Still, she, more than anyone else, understood just how much of a monster her husband was. He may not be strong enough now, but she genuinely believed with every fibre of her being that when all was said and done, Ace would come out stronger than ever. In her mind, the next time she saw Ace, at the very least, Ace would've broken through to become a paragon. At which point, with his two bloodlines, who knew how powerful he would be by then?

It was that thought that not only allowed her to suppress her worries but also hurry back to her personal training realm, gifted to her by Augusta so that she could continue her training - she refused to be left behind!
