Book 13: Part 10 – Not Important Yet

Moments after they arrived in the void above the Yulan Plane, the eyes of both Idarr and Imoiya constricted into pinholes as they found themselves suddenly teleported inside against their will. Augusta, though, took it in his stride, understanding that Aiden had done it.

At the same time, Aiden temporarily altered the laws in the Yulan Plane to accept the two newly arrived Sovereigns.

Before either could catch their bearings, Aiden welcomed the duo, simultaneously confirming that they were willing to agree to the terms proposed by Augusta.

The Husband and wife were still reeling, going from one shock to the next, but with a genuine Overgod standing before them questioning them, they both understood that they didn't have time to adjust.

Understanding that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for both Sovereigns to take their strength another step forward, both Imoiya and Idarr nodded solemnly.

Nodding, with a wave of his hand, Aiden transferred the method for cultivating Concepts directly into their souls before explaining that they were free to train for the next 11 or so months whilst Orloff finished his Overgod transformation.

They had already heard about Orloff's envy-inducing opportunity from Augusta, but hearing Aiden confirm it only served to increase their envy several times over. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to gain the same opportunity; as such, all they could do was do their best to take advantage of their own opportunity and increase their strength as much as possible in the meantime.

For the next 11 months, whether it was the various Sovereigns, Ace, or the rest of the Golden Sun Pirates, no one left the confines of the Yulan Plane, instead choosing to train calmly, patiently waiting for Orloff's awakening, and 11 months later, awaken he did.

As they were innately connected, Augusta was obviously the first to react. An excited light flashed in his eyes as he sensed the sudden boost to his already incredible power level.

The next to react was Aiden, who, without warning, wrapped all the top powerhouses stationed in the Yulan Plane in his Overgod power before transporting them all to Orloff's location.

The moment the newly ascended Overgod of Light opened his eyes, he was immediately welcomed by the site of various familiar faces. Still, with his new power, it was impossible for him to be taken by surprise.

The moment he laid his eyes on Aiden, a helpless and bitter smile took shape on his face. He had initially believed that with his other body being the Chief Sovereign of Fate, upon becoming an Overgod, he would, at the very least, be able to stand on par with Aiden, but the spirit of the Overgod of Light had warned him of Aiden's true power.

Even so, there was a difference between hearing from someone else and seeing the evidence for himself.

Seemingly able to guess Orloff's thoughts, Aiden merely smirked but ultimately said nothing.

Still, with Orloff's impressive mentality, it didn't even take a second for him to get over his disappointment and turn his attention towards Ace.

After becoming an Overgod, he was able to see the world around him in a whole new light, and the same went for those around him.

It had to be understood that, from the moment he became a Sovereign and understood the lofty existence of the Overgods, Orloff's goal in life had been to not only reach their level but even surpass it. For billions of years, Orloff had been training like a maniac, desperately searching for a way to shatter the hold heaven had on him and everyone in the universe, but he had never even come close to doing so.

Even now, despite becoming an all-powerful Overgod, Orloff felt he was no closer to his goal. In fact, he felt the chains of heaven more clearly than ever before. Even though he was more powerful than ever before, this was now his true limit. It would be impossible for him to make another breakthrough, but he could also sense that that truth didn't apply to Ace.

Ace may be the most powerful Deity the universe had ever seen, but at the end of the day, he was still only a mere Demi-God – an existence he could erase with but a thought, and yet, there was no one Orloff admired more.

Whilst it was true that Aiden was incredibly impressive and far more powerful than him if Orloff decided that he didn't want to stand on their side, there would be nothing that Aiden could do to keep him from leaving – Overgods were simply too powerful and difficult to kill.

Aiden and Orloff both knew that, and had it not been for Ace, Orloff very well may have chosen to leave. Choosing to spend the rest of his life in seclusion, no longer bothering with anyone or anything else.

But now, solely because of Ace's presence, Orloff decided to stay on their side. He wanted to see with his own eyes whether his current level was truly the limit for power or if Ace could accomplish the impossible and break free of heaven's will.

Aiden and the others then explained to Orloff what he had missed whilst he was breaking through. Orloff didn't seem to bat an eyelid at any part of the story other than when he had heard that Ace had managed to kill a Sovereign.

Although Ace had done so whilst using the [Dual Battle Tactics] with Amira, and Yoruna was only a Lesser Sovereign of Darkness who hadn't become a paragon, Orloff's eyes still lit up with hope and expectation.

It just went to solidify that his choosing to stay and support Ace was really the right decision.

After their explanation, everyone got to work preparing for the training exercise that was about to take place.

At the same time, a storm was sweeping through various planes in the rest of the universe. Be they material planes or divine realms, the Sovereigns were stopping at nothing to search for the remaining Overgod Talismans, desperate to prevent the final two talismans from landing in the hands of those on Ace and Aiden's side.

Thankfully, they had the spirit of the Overgod of Darkness on their side. It had allowed them to quickly locate the second Overgod Talisman and get hold of it first.

Still, no matter how hard they looked, whether it was the Sovereigns, their emissaries or even the spirit of the Overgod of Darkness, that final Overgod Talisman seemed determined to remain hidden.

In the end, the spirit of Darkness had to temporarily awaken the spirit of Life, the Overgod who had initiated the Overgod Mission this time – who was in the middle of condensing their Overgod body – and ask them to help them locate it.

As the initiator of the Overgod Mission, all three talismans had come from them; as such, it should've been simplicity in and of itself for the Overgod of Life to locate the final talisman, but other than the talisman in the possession of one of Phueus' emissaries, the Overgod of Life was incapable of sensing either of the final two.

One made sense as it had been taken by Kannal and the others who were being protected by Aiden and now Orloff, but for them not to be able to locate the final one didn't make sense, not unless that was also in their possession. They didn't want to believe it, but at this point, it was the only thing that made sense, as only another Overgod would be capable of preventing the Overgod of Life from sensing a talisman they had created.

Ultimately, they were forced to put their plans of locating and capturing the final Overgod Talisman on hold. At least until Killian and the others left the Yulan Plane once more.

They had no idea what they were doing on the Yulan Plane, but the one thing they were sure of was that, since Aiden was the one to propose the idea of only deities being allowed to participate in this Overgod Challenge, Killian and the others would definitely leave the Yulan Plane eventually.

Until then, all they could do was shore up their forces and make sure they were ready for them.

Due to the interference of the spirit of Darkness, neither Aiden nor Orloff were able to see everything going on in the wider universe, but they could guess what was happening, especially as, like the Overgod of Life had suspected, the final Overgod Talisman was truly in the Yulan Plane, the only thing was, the person who had it had no idea that it was in their possession.

Whilst in the Planar Battlefield, Linley had accidentally stumbled on a unique but tattered crown near the Planar River, which, despite its tattered appearance, was able to withstand the power of the chaotic tears in space.

Back then, Linley realised it had to be a treasure of some sort, but no matter what he did, whether he tried to bind it with his blood, his divine power, or spiritual essence, the tattered crown didn't react. Ultimately, he put it in his storage ring and proceeded to forget about it.

But both Aiden had long since discovered it. He just didn't say anything as it wasn't important, at least not yet.
