CHAPTER FORTY NINE
We sit on the beach together in silence for a while. Then, Nash pulls me close and says “Thank you for telling me all that. I know you don’t like talking about this stuff.”
“I’m glad you know, now,” I say. “I’m done keeping secrets.”
Nash smiles, kissing me.
“Actually,” I say, tousling his hair with one hand, “if you don’t mind changing the subject from our exes and all the pain we’ve been through, I have something completely different to share with you. And it’s happy news, I promise.”
“Oh?” Nash raises an eyebrow in curiosity.
“It’s the reason I was up early and out on the beach in the first place,” I explain. “I was going to do a whole announcement where I wrote it in the sand for you to see from the deck, but I can’t wait any longer to tell you. Nash, I’m pregnant!”
His face splits into a huge grin. “Really!?”
“Yes! Nash, we’re having a baby!”
