For protection

Jack POV

I woke up at one point. Feeling that I cannot move my muscles, I looked at the ceiling. The operation should be successful.

Knowing it, I tried to smile, and Paula's voice came. "Oh, Jack. Doctor."

I tried to say something, but I could not. Seeing Paula's face, I looked at her.

She is worried.

For the first time, I can see this expression on her face.

I can do nothing but look at her. As she smiled and talked with the doctor, she said, at one point, "you can go. Face masks should be done."

As I could not say, I moved my finger and made a question mark in the air.

Seeing it, she smiled and said, "for protection."

I nodded.

Seeing it, she smiled and then talked with the doctor. Not long after, I could see the mask coming to me.

After putting it on, she smiled and said, "Oh, you look funny."

"Oh," I said, somehow. Hearing me, Paula said, "In an hour or two you should talk normally."

"Ok," I said, somehow. Hearing me, Paula smiled, and said, "Here are clothes to change into."

I nodded.

Then I walked to the bathroom.

I use it, as I need, and change, I come out. Seeing Paula smiling, she said, "now come."

I nodded once again. When Paula smiled, she started walking away. Seeing it, I followed her. After we came outside, we sat inside the car.

"Hotel," she said, and then I grabbed the phone. When I started the text message, I started writing 'where will I stay?'

"Hotel, of course. We have room for you there. With everything," she said. Hearing it, I nodded and added, 'my bag?'

"In your room," she added. Hearing it, I once again nodded.

I only have hoped that all is there. As I looked outside, I remembered something.

'Floor. How much for cleaning?'

"You will not pay. I convinced Kean to do this," she said. Hearing it, I nodded, and then she added, "they suspended him for a week. Now he is flying back home."

"Ok," I said, somehow. Hearing me, Paula smiled, and I came back to looking outside.

I wanted time to pass slower. However, no. When the car stopped, I came out and then I followed Paula. When we came to the elevator and then to the floor where everything is.

Paula smiled and said, "Oh, we had come. Here is your key."

"Thanks," I said, somehow. When Paula nodded, I started looking at where this room was. Seeing it, I opened it, and then surprise hit me.

Much different from what I had previously. Bigger, this is one. Richer. I could see my laptop there.

As I smiled and looked at my bag, I opened it and started eating a chocolate bar.

Lunchtime passed a long time ago. Probably dinner too. Therefore, what I can do is eat this and lay.

I could feel that slowly I could move my face.

Therefore, when I lay in bed, I put the mask off and started trying to let my face come back to how it was. Consequently, I can talk normally.

As I keep lying in bed, I enjoyed being here. As I smiled, I looked around, and at one point, my phone rang. When I answered, I said, "yes."

"Oh Jack, how are you?" Joanna's voice came.

"Hard to say," I said, somehow. As I looked at the ceiling, Joanna said, "operation."

"Yes," I said, somehow. When my words came out, she said, "oh. Problems with talks."

"Yes," I said.

"I will call you later," she said, and she hung out. Hearing it, I smiled, and then I lay better.

Seeing which hour is, I tried to keep working on coming back usually to talk.

At one point, I could hear someone started knocking on my door. Hearing it, I got up, and when I opened my teacher said, "oh, Jack you come back safe."

"Yes," I said. When the teacher looked at me, he said, "About what had happened."

"I will sue him," I said. Hearing my words, he nodded and said, "We can't move this away. Please be ready for what will happen."

"Ok. Something else" I asked. Hearing me, the teacher looked at me and said, "Oh here are printed for you what you need to do."

"Ok. Thank you," I said, and when he nodded and added, "Oh, right. Dinner should be in two hours. I expect you to do this."

"Ok," I said shortly. Before I could close the doors, I could see Paula in the background.

As she looked at me, I closed the doors slowly. Seeing in front of me twenty pages, I shook my head. Time to move to work.

When I sat close to the bed, I looked for a pen, and while having it in my hand. I started my work.
