The warehouse

The lecture had ended. Kehlani, Kieran, and Cephus were outside the class alongside the detectives, who were going through some documents.

"Any lead so far?" Kehlani inquired.

"None," Detective Pharrell replied. "We've not gotten a call from the kidnapper yet."

Detective John, who had been on a phone call when they arrived, was done, and he came to meet them.

"I've worked on similar cases; whoever has kidnapped Miss Aida Khai didn't take her because he or she wanted money from her rich mother."

"I suspected that too. If it was for money, someone would have put a call across to Mrs. Lupita by now, but we've not heard anything."

Kieran was distracted by a notification sound from his phone. He checked to see who it was: Faila.

A deep frown appeared on his face. What does she want? The marriage has been called off. If she's messaging to coerce him into marrying her, she could dream all she wants because it was never going to happen.
