Leave your father to his fate e

Matt looked at his wristwatch for the umpteenth time and he let out a low growl.

This was the first time his assistant; Jason was late to pick him up. It's not that he couldn't drive but he had his challenges with driving.

He was running late and he didn't have time to waste. Suddenly, he heard a car horn from outside and that was when he knew that Jason had finally arrived.

"Sir, I am…"

"Save it." Matt shut Jason up and Jason knew better than to talk.

Jason was swift to open the door for Matt to get into the Mercedes Benz jeep waiting for him.

Matt made himself comfortable in the car and Jason settled beside him before the driver roared the engine to life.

"Why were you late?" Matt asked, he was leaning his head on the headrest with his eyes closed.

"Madam Lilia sent me on an errand." Jason replied without going into details but Matt was very smart to know that something was off.

"What did she ask you to do?" Matt asked with a serious tone causing Jason to swallow down the lump in his throat. H

He was torn between mother and son.

What was he going to do? He promised madam Lilia that he wouldn't spill anything to Matt and he couldn't lie to Matt. He was too smart.

"She just asked me to get some stuff for her." He lied. He would rather have Matt mad at him than his mother. She was hell, itself.

Madam Lilia was very cunning, wicked and mischievous and he doesn't want to be a pawn in her plan.

"Really Jason? So she doesn't have any other staff to get stuff for her except you, my personal assistant." Matt was quick to notice the flaw in his lie.

"Not really, boss, but I think it was for her personal use and I couldn't allow…"

"Would you spare me that nonsense." Matt cut him off with a fierce tone that even the driver in the front seat flinched.

"Spill everything out now, and don't you dare lie to me." Matt demanded in a very serious tone.

Jason was done for.

"I am sorry to disappoint you sir but madam Lilia had instructed me not to tell you a thing." Jason said quickly.

Matt shut his eyes open as he turned his head to look at Jason who was fidgeting.

"Who employed you?" Matt asked.

"You, boss."

"Who do you work for?"

"You, boss." Jason replied hastily.

"Whom are you loyal to?" Matt asked again, very slowly.

"You, boss." Jason replied as fast as he could.

"Good, so you better open up else I would have no other choice to fire you, I can't work with someone who isn't loyal to me." Matt said as he leaned his head on the headrest expecting Jason to open up.

Jason bit down on his lips as he looked away. For the first time in his life, he noticed how far Matt's mansion is far from his office.

This was a dead end for him and he actually didn't know what to do. The Spencers would definitely kill him sooner than later.

Matt knew the kind of mother he had, she was very manipulative and God knows what she had said to Jason for him not to open up to him.

This was the first time Jason had the guts to keep things away from him, but then, he shouldn't be afraid because his mother cannot harm him, not on his watch.

"She set up a blind date for you." Jason said so quickly.

"What?!" Matt saw red instantly. What the f**k did Jason just say?

His mother knew how much he hated the opposite sex, talk more of going on a blind date with any of them. What was she planning now?

Matt's blood boiled and he felt the urge to face his mother right now. What on earth was she thinking?

"To my parents' residence." He ordered the driver who obeyed and took the route to his parents house.

"Boss, please no, you can't go, else she would kill me for spilling the truth, please." Jason begged him but all his pleas fell on deaf ears.

"Jason, you have nothing to worry about, I am your boss not her." Matt said and Jason could only sigh. This was the end for him.

In no time, they arrived at his parents' penthouse. He wasted no time getting out of the car.

The staff on duty stared at him, especially the females. It was not an everyday occurance see madam Lilia's son visit. But the way he walked like he was pissed off made all the staff afraid of him.

"Mother!" He roared as he entered the living room. His eyes were blazing red.

"What a surprise…"

"What nonsense did you ask Jason to do?" He interrupted her, he did not have time for his mother sweet talking this morning.

Madam Lilia glared at Jason who was behind Matt and he felt like the ground should open and swallow him.

She returned her gaze to her son who was so angry. She smiled at him but then it wasn't helping.

"I did it for you." She said remorseless.

"You did it for me. Did I ever tell you that I needed a blind date?" Matt asked as he hovered around her.

"You need an heir, Matt. I am trying to…"

"Stop it!" Matt thundered.

"Your husband; my father is with the Steele family and here you are setting up a blind date for me. I am doing everything possible to get him out of there alive but yet all you can think of is an heir." Matt stated.

"Your father brought this upon himself." Madam Lilia countered.

"Years back when we had little, he was also envious of the Steele family that he had the guts to kill some of their men. When David retaliated by killing his brother, he swore to make sure he kills Helen, who was so dear to both David and Daniel. I warned him that they would come after him, yet he wouldn't listen and now he is paying for what he has done. I am so grateful that my son has been able to take our family to greater heights than his father who was always envious of other people's success." Madam Lilia explained.

"Father has been for gone missing for f**king eight years now mom. Is this all you can say?" Matt asked.

"As I said earlier, your father is paying for what he did." Madam Lilia replied.

"And dad said he did nothing to them." Matt retorted.

"And you believe him? I never knew you were such a big fool." Madam Lilia countered.

"It's time you leave your father to his fate with the Steele family; otherwise, you would be digging your own grave." Madam Lilia warned him.
