61 – Asgard (2)

When Poseidon arrived on the ground of Asgard, he noticed the number of bodies of the Chaos creatures. The vast majority of them he had killed, but he was still surprised that Asgard was able to defend itself so well.

''How did you defend yourselves so well?'' Poseidon asked Thor, as he looked around for survivors or enemies that escaped.

''Ha! That fight was nothing to us Asgardians. We were born for war.'' Thor said with extreme pride.

Freya, who was helping an Asgardian out of a ruined building, said, '' Even though I don't want to admit it, Thor is right. Asgardians can fight.''

Thor was almost beaming with pride, '' The ' Queen' knows her stuff.''

Poseidon, Freya, and Thor helped some people and then went towards the most populated place, where they sensed Sif and Ratatoskr presence. Arriving there, they could see a lot of people around.

'' Is that all?'' Poseidon dropped the survivors he found, then asked Ratatoskr.

The squirrel nodded his small head while looking sad. Poseidon could understand why he was sad, ' It's too little.'

The number of survivors was small. Only a couple thousand.

Sif also arrived, '' We did our best to save as many as we could, but... we still got a lot of injured people.''

'' Let me help.'' Freya, even though the Asgardians were her enemies before, put her difference aside to help them in their time of need.

Sif was touched. She knew how much Freya lost, so seeing her willingness to help so easily was quite shocking, '' ... Thank you.''

Freya was already helping one of the survivors, '' Don't mention it. We have a common enemy. Two, in fact.''

Sif knew Freya was right. Now, Odin and Chaos are the common enemies of all living beings across the realms. Sif already didn't like Odin, for what he has done to her husband, so his betrayal meant little to her. She already hated him.

Freya went around healing all she could. After she was done, she approached the group. She asked Poseidon, '' What now?''

'' First, let me explain something. I already told you before, but the entire Norse Realm, including the 9 realms, is going to be destroyed in less than 3 days. Do you get that?''

Sif, Heimdall, and Thor nodded.

'' What do you mean by that?'' A thunderous voice, that rivaled Thor's voice, sounded from somewhere behind the group.

It was Thrúd, the daughter of Thor and Sif. She was accompanied by Magni and Modi. Magni was Sif's stepson, while Modi and Thrúd were her biological children.

'' Dear...'' Sif was startled by their presence, ' I was so distracted by all of this that I didn't even sense them...'

'' Save it, mom. I heard everything.'' The conversation between Mother and Daughter attracted the attention of all survivors, who were now paying attention to what the duo was saying.

'' You said something about the Norse Realm being destroyed. What is this all about!?'' Thrúd voice resounded between the survivors.

'' What!?''

'' Sif! Is that true?''

The survivors started to ask questions and demand some kind of response.

A vein popped on Thor's head when he noted Sif was getting surrounded by people and bombarded with questions. He roared and used Mjölnir to scare off the survivors surrounding Sif, '' GO BACK!''

When thunder almost hit them, the survivors backed a little but still demanded answers.

'' Please, at least tell us what is happening!''

It was understanding why the Asgardians were like this. In one moment they're living their lives like normal, then they're attacked by Chaos creatures, who some people thought were legends of old.

Then, after somehow surviving the attack from those creatures and the spears made of water, they heard their entire realm was being destroyed. It was a normal reaction.

Thor was about to explain, but Poseidon said, '' Allow me, please.''

Thor wanted to decline, but Sif took his hand, '' Let him handle it.''

Seeing his wife like this, Thor nodded at Poseidon, '' Go ahead.''

Poseidon then came in front of Thrúd, Magni, Modi, and all survivors, '' My name is Poseidon! I'm a God from a faraway realm.''

When Poseidon said that, some people started to whisper to each other, not understanding what was happening.

Poseidon continued, '' I know all of you don't know what is happening, so allow me to explain.'' He took a deep breath, '' Odin betrayed not only you but everyone across the 9 realms. He allied himself with Chaos, allowing them to enter the entire Norse Realm.''

'' As a result of that, a being powerful enough to destroy everyone arrived at this realm. I tried to stop him but to no avail. He managed to destroy your realm for good. In 4 days, all of this will be gone.''

Silence. Everyone was shocked by this revelation.

Some of them tried to deny reality, '' You're lying! Odin would never do this to us!''

'' Yeah! That's right!''

Heimdall, who was quiet for a while, went close to Poseidon, '' I can vouch for this outsider. What he said is the truth.''

Thrúd, the person who initiated all this discussion, looked at her mom. She could at least read her mom's reaction.

After observing Sif, Thrúd arrived at the conclusion Poseidon wasn't lying, ' Mom would've said something by now if it was a lie...'

So, knowing that everything was real, Thrúd said to the survivors, '' I trust them. Why would they lie to us!? Think!''

The survivors stopped talking. The reality of the situation started to sink in, '' What are we going to do then?''

Poseidon took charge once again, '' I can't guarantee everyone's survival, but I can at least offer you a chance. Me and a few other Gods, are gathering as many survivors as we can.''

'' Why?''

'' So we can evacuate the Norse Realm. My Realm is far away, but we welcome all of you. Again, I can't guarantee everyone's survival, but at least you'll be alive for a while longer and have a chance to fight.''

No one said anything. They started to whisper between them.

When Poseidon saw that, he sighed, ' They are quite hardheaded. I know it's hard to believe, but when almost all of their Gods said it's true, they still don't believe.''

Poseidon was about to say more things, but Thrúd said, '' I'm in.''

Poseidon looked at her with another eye, ' She's smart.' He nodded at her, '' Good.''

Thrúd's actions started a chain reaction. Magni and Modi also joined, followed by the rest of the survivors.

Poseidon looked at Sif, '' Responding to your question, we will now regroup in Midgard. After that, we will look around the others realms in hope of finding survivors. Then, finally, we will leave the Norse Realm for good.''

One of the survivors asked, '' When are we leaving Asgard?''

'' The sooner the better. Grab all things you may need, and tell us when you're done.'' Poseidon also wanted to search Odin room's. ' I hope it's not destroyed.'

After Poseidon finished saying that, everyone started to move. Thrúd, Modi, and Magni now were with the rest.

Poseidon asked them, '' Do you guys know where Odin's room is?''

Everyone knew the place, but Thrúd volunteered to show Poseidon, '' Let me show you the place. Follow me.''

Poseidon followed Thrúd, while the rest of the group stayed behind to do their things.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at a place which surprisingly wasn't destroyed, ' Amazing! There must be some kind of barrier around the place.'

'' It's here.'' Thrúd tried to open the door, but it didn't budge even with her using all her strength.

'' Here, let me.'' Poseidon put his hand on the door, ' Hmmm, I was right. There's a barrier... but not powerful enough to handle me!'

Using his strength, Poseidon opened the door to Odin's room. Inside, there were countless pieces of paper scattered around. And a Chaos portal.

When Thrúd saw that, she cursed Odin, '' Son of a bitch!''

Poseidon found that amusing, '' Don't worry about the portal for now. Let's see if there's anything around here that had Chaos information.''

Poseidon and Thrúd spent the next couple of minutes searching the place until Thrúd screamed, '' Found something!''

When Poseidon went close, he saw Thrúd holding a book. She passed it to him, '' Here. I think it's important.''

Poseidon rapidly went through the content of the book. He smiled at the end, '' Jackpot!''
