CHAPTER NINE: MAYBES

In the dungeon cell.

All the police that are captured are put into one single cell. They were all asleep. Snoring sounds came out so loud that it sounded like a hundred drums playing all together at the same time.

A few minutes later, the chief woke while the other police were still asleep. He looked around. He didn't know where he was or what was happening. He only remembers when a shadow appeared, and then he fell and went asleep, but nothing else. The first thing he does is to wake the police, that is still asleep. The police that just woke up had almost the same thoughts as the chief when the chief woke up. But soon they all saw the chief and asked a bunch of questions like where are we or what happened plus a lot more which the chief even forgot what it was because there were too many questions so the chief couldn't even hear a complete sentence. So the chief put up a hand that means to be quiet. Then, when it was quiet, the chief said

"We are now probably in a dungeon underground. We got captured in the halls."

After the chief said that, all the police started to remember the things that happened, why they came here, and much more. Then one police called out,

"What are we going to do? Escape or stay?"

Then all the other police replied,

"Escape"

"But how?"

Replied the one who started this conversation.

Then everyone went silent. They all looked at the chief. They also think about how to escape, but no one has an idea, yet they all freeze.

A few seconds later, the chief said

"We might be able to escape."

To destroy this freezing ambiance. Then he started to say what he was thinking of,

"I think Demo got captured here too. This must be right, or what would explain the disappearing marks on the trees and the sleeping medicine on the ground? So if Demo got captured here, he is probably in this underground area too. He might have escaped, or he might not. If he escaped any of these cells, we could contact him, and he would help us from outside and unlock the cell door.

Soon after, the chief said that everyone became hopeful, so they listened to the chief and just waited. But the chief isn't sure if Demo escaped, like only sixty-five percent sure about it.

In the halls of this underground area, Demo walked alone toward the dungeon. He is sure that the chief and the police are captured there. He was planning on who to bring out of the dungeon and into the hospital to talk about his plan and also hear here if they agreed not. Thinking of that, he arrived at the door of the dungeon. He told the guard that he would look inside, and the guard said yes and opened the dungeon door. Demo took a deep breath and went inside the dungeon.
