"Ava, what is it?" Pete muttered in a sleepy drawl as he trudged behind his border collie skittering down the stairs in a flight as she barked.
Hearing her growing and vehement bark as she hastened her limbs, Pete spurred up with alert, and even more when he heard the unlocking sound of his door.
"You.." He halted on his heels when a head of dark brown hair speared through the door. A frown ran across the length of his face. "What are you doing here at this—" He trailed, shifting his eyes at the acrylic clock sitting on the wall.
"Good morning, bro." She greeted, and lowered her gaze to the dog.
Ava's had barks quietened when she saw the familiar face, and she hastened forward for a quick ruffle she was certain to get.
Aware of her desires, Alice smiled and crouched down and ruffled her fur. She raised her head towards the stairs where Pete remained standing.
