Turnip Awards {Part 1}

The same day

5:30P.M

Lu Xiao was surrounded by make up artists who were busy preparing him for the award show while Li Jie was looking at the live event.The show had begun and the audience were being shown the hall,the red carpet and the presenters who were dressed in expensive clothing's.Everyone was excited for the show and while others were preparing Meng Hui was deeply asleep.She had been sleeping for two hours with no sign of waking up."Hey Lu Xiao what do you think Meng Hui will wear?"Li Jie asked still looking at the live show"Whatever she wears is none of my concern."He said as the make up artist asked him to tilt his head"She only wears big shirts and jeans I've never seen her in anything else especially a dress or skirt and I have to admit I'm waiting to see her in on."Lu Xiao rolled his eyes at him"Even if she dresses in expensive clothes she will still look like an ugly duckling"It's not nice to say that especially to a girl like her but if you want a beating make sure to say it in her face."Li Jie winked at him and Lu Xiao sneered.

6:30P.M

Meng Hui woke up and rubbed her eyes then it suddenly hit her that she is attending an event tonight"Shoot what time is it?"She looked at her phone and jumped off her bed and picked a towel rushing into the bathroom.She took a quick shower and wore the first outfit her hand caught and a pair of sneakers.She looked at herself in the mirror and felt a drop fall on her face"I forgot to dry my hair."She looked for the blow dryer but couldn't find it and decided to just use a towel to dry it.She put it in a messy bun then picked her monkey bag and put her phone in it then went out.It was already past seven and Lu Xiao was getting impatient"If she doesn't appear in the next one minute we are going."Li Jie nervously looked at his wrist watch.Meng Hui ran outside and found them standing next to the black Maybach that brought them to the hotel the previous day.Li Jie stood in shock as she approached them"What are you wearing?"He shouted looking at her"Clothes."She answered wearing her bag"Meng Hui this is not just a normal event how can you wear this?"He looked at her outfit once more.She was dressed in an oversized black t-shirt that was cut on one side,baggy black jeans,black sneakers with drawings of minions and a black oversized hoodie written 'Thug life'."I think it's fine."She examined herself finding no problem with her outfit"Go back and change into something presentable people walk in the red carpet and pictures are taken do you hear that pictures are taken."Li Jie was angrily poking her shoulder"Stop that."She pushed his hands away"I'm comfortable in this me no wearing no dress got that."She now poked him then pushed Lu Xiao aside and got in the car"You guys coming we are already late."Li Jie shook his head and they got in.The driver drove them to Dragon Hotel where the award show was to take place.When they reached at the gate Meng Hui told the driver to stop"What are you doing?"Li Jie asked"Going out.See you inside have fun."She removed the seat belt and got out.The driver continued driving until the entrance of the hotel where the red carpet was displayed.When the car stopped all the journalist focused their camera's on the car anticipating who would come out.Li Jie got off the car and opened the door.Lu Xiao git out and buttoned his suit jacket as the journalist's started taking pictures

"Isn't that Lu Xiao."One journalist asked still taking pictures.

"He's so handsome."Another said blushing.

Lu Xiao walked on the red carpet with his domineering aura and stoic face.The audience and the people present blushed hard upon seeing him.He stood Infront of the journalists as they took his pictures and lights flashed in all directions

"Lu Xiao how do you feel being here?"One journalist asked as the all pointed the microphone to him

"I feel great."He answered briefly

"Do you feel like you will win an award today?"Another asked

"We'll see."

They kept asking him questions and after the interview he got in and went to the main banquet hall.The hall was decorated with balloons of different colours,flowers were each table and gold glittery lining surrounding each pillar.The chairs had big bows behind them and we're arranged in a straight line.On the left side there was a big table with different drinks and foods displayed.There was a large podium and a microphone for the presenters.on the other end there was a large space for people to dance and enjoy before the show begins.The hall was filled with big some celebrities,big CEO'S and some important people invited."I will go get you a drink feel free to interact."Li Jie went to the snack table and a few celebrities went to greet Lu Xiao and he only replied with a nod"Can't you produce a smile even in a big event like this?"A handsome guy with black hair appeared in front of him"I don't do smiles."Lu Xiao replied nonchalantly"Whatever."The handsome guy rolled his eyes then they hugged"Glad you are back You Xi."Lu Xiao said as they broke their hug"I knew you would miss me but I didn't know it will be this much.How have you been?"I have a mad person for an assistant what do you except?"Li Jie brought two drinks and handed them"Your new assistant what was her name?"You Xi rubbed his chin thinking "Meng.. Meng...Meng Hui."Lu Xiao nodded his head"That girl is a total phsyco."You Xi laughed"You finally found someone to challenge you."He said still laughing "It's not funny."You Xi stopped laughing"Guess what she's your fan."My fan then I would definitely like to meet here.Where is she?"You Xi asked looking around "She disappeared somewhere."Lu Xiao said taking a sip of his wine.
