Ronnie’s POV
Max sits across from me at my desk while we eat lunch. Sabrina comes in and out of the room, grabbing different folders to be organized at her desk just outside my office.
“So, is everything smoothed over with your girl now?” he asks, twirling noodles around his fork.
“Yeah, I think so. We talked about it a little bit at dinner last night. She must’ve not been upset about what I had to say if she still stayed the night,” I say, stabbing a piece of chicken.
Max whistles. “What did I tell you? Sex is the key, my man!” He flashes me his goofy smile.
We hear a thud from outside my door and see Sabrina picking up a bunch of folders that fell off her desk.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to knock those over.” She rushes to pick them all up.
I turn my attention back to Max. “No, we didn’t have sex last night. I just couldn’t stand the thought of not seeing her when I woke up.”
