Chapter 41: New Beginnings

Nancy’s POV

I’m shaken back to reality by Sara. She and the other girls surround me in a small circle on the skating floor.

“Are you okay? You got ghostly pale and wouldn’t respond to anyone,” Sara says, worry putting lines on her face.

“She wasn’t giving me a warning about getting on her bad side,” I mumble, finally understanding Sabrina’s threat.

“What are you talking about?” Jessie asks, shaking my shoulders again.

“Sabrina’s threat earlier about getting on her bad side. That wasn’t a threat to not piss her off, that was a threat that she already went and told someone a big secret of mine,” I growled, fury warming my veins.

My dancing wasn’t even a secret; I’m not ashamed of it at all. On the contrary, it’s been a massive part of my life. But lying to some dumb gossip show that I’m a stripper? That’s too far!

The girls all give me sympathetic looks, but it doesn’t help. How can I convince Ronnie’s parents I’m good for their son when they see lies like this?
