Chapter 25: Determined

I threw my suitcase into my truck and shut the door. I had a meeting with the curator at a museum in Minnesota, who purchased an ancient Assyrian tablet from my business. She was paying a fine price for it, but I had to meet her in person to finalize the deal. Once that happened, I’d then have to travel back here to meet with my team in Antiquities, to ensure that the artifact was packaged and transported without trouble or delay.

Working was the only thing I could do to get Emily off of my mind. Two weeks had passed, and I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I had not been myself since that night and no matter what I did, she was always on my mind. The harder I tried, the more she was there, and I started to get depressed.
