*Edwin*
Reckless fury twisted in Edwin’s blood as he followed the Alpha from the dining chamber into the tunnel. Taking one of the torches from the wall, he struggled to ignore the wolfish instincts that would have him sinking his teeth into Cedric’s neck. Then he would tear into Anthony before he had the chance to so much as look at Marianne.
But that would compromise everything.
And Marianne might well be the first to kick his a*s if he jeopardized the mission when they were this close to success.
Still, if Anthony hurt her, Edwin might not be able to stop himself.
He hoped William was ready.
With great effort, Edwin focused on the reverberating echo of their footsteps as they descended deeper into the earth. He could do this. He could keep hold of his composure. The finish line was in sight, and he could not afford to stumble.
Despite his rage, Edwin had the rest of what he’d just witnessed to consider. How had the playing field been altered?
