Rows upon rows of cubicles appeared floating around me like a tower. Everywhere I looked something glowed at me. From swords to accessories. Armors and gears. Even the same shards I had gotten from the Molvs and the sun eagle were here, though of a lesser quantity. As I looked I saw another appear.

'The players were selling theirs. Seems some actually listened to the assistant.'

Like the shard in my possession, these shards called to me. Enticing me with the power they held. Yet I saw it as a warning of the consequence Tem warned me of.

Tearing my gaze away I willed myself to go higher and see what else lay here. The tower had three colors shown by the cubicles. There were the golden glowing cubicles, the silver cubicles and the black cubicles.

The materials in the golden cubicles were varied. But those in the black were all same. Each of the cubicles had one thing within. A long cylindrical scroll. One for each cubicle but only seven of them.

My hand stretched out and touched the first cubicle.

[Class of the Fizer] - [200,000 MVC]

"These wares are costly" I was shocked at the price. Quickly I touched the next one and the next until I had touched all four

[Class of the Terraforma] - [50,000 MVC]

[Class of the Flamental] - [30,000 MVC]

[Class of the Holocaust] - [75,000 MVC]

[Class of the Principal] - [150,000 MVC]

[Class of the Argonaut] - [135,000 MVC]

[Class of the Walker] - [175,000 MVC]

'Absolute madness.' I backed away from the cubicles like they were a viral disease and shuddered. 'Too much. Too much'

"On the other hand what sort of game lists classes for sale. And at an expensive figure too". This game was twisting things too much. I wasn't liking this part. It was almost like a pay-to-win but with the disadvantage of not actually being able to put in real-life funds.

'That's good at least.' I stepped away from the black cubicles and then turned to the silver cubicles. There were a lot of them.

Armors I couldn't afford, swords too flashy and expensive, or spears too costly. It felt like a high-tier mall with everything worth four times my salary.

Looking away from the silver cubicles going to the next, a golden cubicle.

" Only one of you?" I stared into the cubicle and found not a scroll or armor or weapon. Just a single cylindrical white crystal.

[CASTLE ROD] - [A tool to claim land]- [100,000 MVC]

That was it, straight to the point. But my mind began spinning several possibilities. I saw ideas and potential plans. Then finally I paused.

"Ah shit. This f*ckers".

I looked around for any other cubicle before sighing. 'This is both good and bad. Yet j still don't understand the concept of how it could all work. Yet the just idea of it is enough to make me shiver. Is this what he meant when he said those that had contracts would regret it.'

Creator online had just become a piece of infrastructural and economical prospect. How they aimed to push this idea I didn't know, but, if it succeeded then.

" Shit. " I frowned at how serious this game just got. There were many already playing professionally because of their contracts. Now they would be more aggressive to gain a stand and earn profits for themselves too.

"But how would they do it? How would the company even market the game to such a height?" I couldn't help but feel like I was missing something. Something major and drastic.

"Oh. Should I tell the others or hold on to this idea." I looked from one cubicle to the other before frowning.

"The chance of betrayal is high. But if I keep everyone in line and also show them the benefit of working together against tearing ourselves apart it should work.

I hesitated for just a moment before signing.

" A leap of faith eh. Ironic". I mentally searched for a friend list and then searched out the chat feature. I watched as the names of the player gods appeared in my head. Then I added all of them to one chat.

{(Daedalus/God of Might) >> (Chat) - Meet at the silver gate in thirty in-game minutes. Serious news to be shared. It could decide the rest of the game for us}

With that given out, I eased out of the mental chat and looked around. Wondering what else I could gain from this store.

"There's that" I pulled out the shard of the absolute from my inventory. Its dazzling lights warred with me to absorb and claim it as mine. I shivered as I mentally prodded it.

[Shard of the Absolute - Tier 1]

[Absorb]

[Sell] - [200 MVC]

[Exchange] - [Basic (Normal) Gear piece]

[Auction] - [Not available]

I begrudgingly exchanged the shard for a single Tier 1 gear piece. There was really nothing to get with just 200 MVC in this store. I wanted to take the 200 MVC but if there was nothing to gain with ur now then the piece could be better.

[Tier 1 Gear piece redeemed]

"Sounds like a lottery to me" Either way I was relieved from the need to have to deal with the obsessive pull in the future as the shard vanished. A cubicle to the left, one of the silver cubicles, shot out like a drawer. A black cuirass floated out. Hovering there it waited as I examined it with my inspect skill.

[Armor] - [Steel Cuirasse]

[Normal] - [BASIC]

Forged from god metal, the cuirass is a light fit, mobile, and slightly flexible upper body armor. The first of many made by the Denners.

[Effects] - [+10 Defence] - [+5 agility]

The armor felt weak but I knew it would serve. With a thought I had it equipped and the steel cuirass vanished only to appear on my body weaved out of light.

It felt comfortable on me. With a smile, I willed myself to leave this space and the cylindrical shaft of cubicles vanished from around me. I was still standing where I had been after drinking from the pond.

A glance had me wondering if the effect could be stacked. Then I shook my head. No way the game would leave such a flaw.

My mind raced to the castle rod again as u spotted a few players loitering around. Did they know?

Of course, they knew about the castle rod. The question was, did they know what it could likely signify? I sighed. No way some didn't know. It was a bit obvious and I wasn't that smart. Which meant others had already put two and two together.

I walked away from the pond moving to the gate. The streets were not even clustered and I watched as groups walked together just looking around or making plans.

I heard conversations revolving around the Castle rod and some about using the shards of the absolute. One guy even talked about pulling everyone's resources to grow one person and then have him power-level the rest.

'Yup. Not happening. ' I chuckled before zoning the others out and focusing on my status template. I noticed my two level-ups and also unallocated stat points that I didn't have before sitting there.

'Fifty. ' I was amazed. 'If it's fifty then that meant I got 25 stat points per level. Considering there were only five attributes then I'm guessing that each got a five-stat allocation per level.

Overkill especially when I didn't have to put it in the said attribute. It totally made up for my slow leveling up.

'This means the other basic and upgraded races will have the luxury of faster level-ups.' clicking my tongue I refrained from grumbling.

"The power price".

I was at the gate quicker than I expected. Without a pause, I sat at a ledge to the right where a sidewalk was. Potted gold and green plants lined the sides.

"First place I see green. Can't say I didn't miss it" I smiled before focusing on my status template. Before I could even ponder how to allocate the stat a thought to not push my attributes far from my godhood or core crept into my head.

'Okay. Freaky how the system A.I can do that. But hmmh, what exactly is my godhood or core?' I probed the system for it continuously until it fessed up.

[GODHOOD/CORE]

The fundamental and most basic part of a being, person, or thing that initiates or gives power and cohesion to something, an idea, endeavor, or organization.

'I'll try to act like I understood.' In summary, I understood the gist though. Just not the fanciful words.

'So do not stray too far from the core of might. My fundamental part of expecting my force and power over something. ' I tried to out in a way I understood better.

I looked at my status again and started assigning the points. I put some points in and removed them. Sent somewhere else and repeated. Until I finally halted.

'This should do. Finalize'. The stat application became permanent and then did I feel the effects.

UNALLOCATED STAT POINTS - 00

My thoughts were simple. Might's basest definition was exerting force or power on something. I doubted it would be kept to one field of study. But I was certain it would apply in a lot of things especially mental and will. So the two got the highest stats of 13 and 10 each. It had already started affecting a lot of things as seen with the Argonne racial perk going from Air Finagle to Zephyr's Might and then my personal perk that I didn't even know what it did yet. I was making sure to keep things on the good part

As an Argonne, a race classified as the ruler of the skies. It would be dumb to be slow. So 10 to agility which I was certain had dexterity within. The sun eagle made me realize that against a better and stronger foe, I couldn't escape without having a huge health to outlast and find a weakness to fell my foe. It sounded good to me. So 10 to endurance which affected my hp too. It seemed like I went all equal on my stats. Strength got only 7 because well it didn't really matter how strong you were when your enemy could decapitate you with a refined wind slash. Still I wasn't going to neglect any if the said attributes. A physically weak God of might was disappointing.

A look at my status had me amazed and worried. Two level-ups had about tripled my stats from what it once was. The game was sure to equalize it. Leveling was going to be a hitch sooner than later.

'The woes of an Advanced race'.

I perked up on as spotting two of my hopefully soon to be permanent crew. Gertrude the Evershu, and Jean the Undule. I wasn't surprised both decided to stick it out. One was brash and the collected and smart, two sides of a coin.

If I could convince both first especially Gertrude then, things would be looking well.

'Good luck to me'.
