Birth of the Messengers

Dylaeria was cold and empty. The clouds beneath my feet rolled slowly and the five rings sat there. No activity within it, no movement, just empty. Like an abandoned city.

That was about to change.

The interior was just as grand as the exterior resembling a sophisticated military barracks crossed with a temple and palace all in one.

I stood in the central room in the second ring. Here the Divinum Sentinel slept. Over decades of waiting for its awakening to fulfill its purpose. First I looked over my template.

I gaped in surprise at the values I was getting. I had a feeling it was this much simply because I barely answered prayers. Well, soon the messengers would be here for that.

"It's time to wake"

The order sent with the needed faith flowed into the egg-like entity and it hummed to life. A glow of white gathered around it and then slowly trickled into it. The skin around it hummed and then the egg began rotating as it released energy back into the ground.

Several intricate white lines flickered with light as they traveled off the ground in several paths. Some ascending and most rushing down with a few circulating four cube-like structures.

The veins of white light consolidated in an orb filling it with the same light before it paused.

I focused back on the Divinum Sentinel and willed it to gain more faith energy for a tier-up.

[FAITH SPARK - 200 F/day]

[Tier - 2 - [0/4000]

[Faith limit - 20,000/20,000F/day]

[Faith Outage - 20,000F/day]

[Messenger unit - 0/100]

I didn't like the low numbers of messenger units so I just pumped more faith into the divinum sentinel to tier it up. I watched as the divinum sentinel tiered up till it finally reached tier 10.

[FAITH SPARK - 102,400 F/day]

[Tier - 10- [0/1,024,,000]

[Faith limit - 0/10,240,000F/day]

[Faith Outage - 10,240,000F/day]

[Messenger unit - [0/100,000,000+]

"That's a lot of faith". With that thought I transferred all the faith I carried into the divinum. Now it would act like a bank holding unto faith energy. Whenever I came to Vaustsris I could simply drop by and cash out some faith to use.

It was amusing to think of it like that but it was what it was. Best to leave it for the messengers to use effectively while I wasn't here.

I had the now active divinum show me the templates of my messengers. Messengers were beings that grew stronger the older they got. Also, I had set it so that the gods had two options when in a mortal world. They could either buy a template and create messengers that would have utmost loyalty to them. While it would respect me it would still choose to block their god from a mortal wound than me.

The second option was to buy or earn a ticket to summon one of my messengers. So it was a simple decision of whether to pick strength or loyalty. Gods who would get rich in this game could have both. And I'd advise both as good. Facing another god with one of my messengers while using a loyal messenger was suicidal to said messengers.

I accessed the templates looking through them. I already knew which I would create first. It had to be in line and form a sort of hierarchy among them.

{Fury Messenger - { - 50F production - 100F life power activation - Emergency power slot set - 50F/day}

{Gemini Messenger - FIFTH RING - 50F production - 100F life-power activation - Emergency power slot set - 50F/day}

{Solivert Messenger -FOURTH RING - 150F production - 200F life power activation - Emergency power slot set - 50F/day}

{Divina Messenger - THIRD RING - 300F production - 400F life-power activation - Emergency power slot set - 50F/day}

{Bravura Messenger - SECOND RING - 600F production - 800F life-power activation - Emergency power slot set - 50F/day}

Which was why the obvious first was the Bravura messenger. Keepers of the divinum sentinel and lords of Dylaeria. It cost just 600F energy to create the complete body of one. Another 800F to give it life and then it received its daily 50F energy.

I instructed the divinum to make just a hundred of them. Then I watched as the lights in the four cubes intensified and skill out. The beautiful thing about the messengers was unlike the divinum sentinels they didn't need to have materials to be forged.

Out of nothing, they came.

Bravurans were for the word large. They were made to be purely defensive. Able to take hits upon hits without failing. While their offense was in no way weak it would be nothing compared to the others.

Their duty was to protect Dylaeria, their younger ones, and the Divinum Sentinels. As such the second ring was their territory and place. No other messenger unless authorized could set feet past the exterior walls of the second ring.

I watched the light build up tissue and flesh from nothing. Their bodies were sculpted, males and females. They all looked too muscular fortunately the females were better sculpted.

Large white horns on their heads and four eyes on their faces. Each a piercing white with no iris within. It was the last detail that truly unnerved me.

I looked away for quite a bit before steeling myself and looking back. Large black wings stretched out their backs. They would put mine to shame.

One of them grunted and stretched then the second and then they all moved. I watched their flesh ripple and their muscles stretch. Their wings folded as they each stared at the other and themselves. Their skin was of varying tones but could all pass for humanoids if not for the four gazes, wings, build, and horns.

"And fingers." Each had not five but seven digits. Luckily their legs were normal. Then they noticed me. It was always strange to see how my creations exempting the mortals knew I was their maker.

The Bravuras dropped to a knee one after the other as they took note of me.

"Welcome to Dylaeria children" I needed to stop referring to everything as my children. "You know your purpose and your task. For today though rest and get to know yourselves."

They remained kneeling as I spoke.

"Your younger siblings will soon be born. While they are younger and lower in the rings I will not appreciate any form of belittling. Treat them as you would do yourself. Maybe not with equal respect.." I doubted they would have that once they met their younger. "...but enough respect as possible. Understood".

All made affirmative sounds.

I waved them to go explore before turning sensing them all stand and look around. Swiftly they scattered. Most rushed out the rings and took to the air with difficulty at first. Others just strolled around looking about.

As I descended to the third ring where I would make the next group two forms flanked my sides. A look back and I spotted the two Bravurans following. Both blushed a bit at my raised eyebrow.

" We wish to accompany and see mother, if you would have us" I nodded at the statement of the female goad that they were already in some ways smart then a realization struck me. All the hundred were naked.

Quickly I instructed the Divinum Sentinel to update all the templates with the attire and gear effect. Now they would be formed with pieces of regenerative clothing and gears.

Behind me, the Bravurans made a pause as they got their update. I watched as the light flowed over them and suddenly they were wearing plain togas. The male of the two only had it wrapped around his waist leaving his upper muscular body bare. The female had it more nicely arranged over her entire form.

'Maybe the armor comes separately ' I thought. Nodding at both I walked on.

"What are your names?" The Divinum was in charge of naming them as I found it unlikely I could name everyone I made.

"Olaf"

"Veras"

I nodded. We were at the third ring now. It was larger than the second ring in space. There were eight instead of four cubes at the very center of the ring, right beneath where the divinum would be.

Standing there I gave the divinum the go-ahead to create the Divina messengers.

If the Bravuras were defensive then the Divinas were pious. Holier than thou and strictly righteous to a fault. They were messengers of order and disliked chaos. 300F was put into forging their bodies. 400F life-power activation to give them the spark of life and the daily emergency power of 50F energy.

White wings and four hands. Lean but still muscular. Unlike the Bravurans they were born clothed. White togas around their bodies. Bands of gold firmly gripped their biceps, arms, and ankles. A circular ringed crown of gold on their forehead. The only thing that would be left around if a divinas were to perish. I gave the over 1000 of them a cursory glance in appreciation.

I left the third ring before they could awaken leaving Olaf to explain their existence to them. Vera accompanied me to the fourth ring where we both watched over a thousand Soliverts forged out of nothing.

Just like the others I only stayed long enough for the ten thousand to be made amd admire their looks before leaving. The Soliverts were unlike the rest non-humanoid.

With one large eye at the center of their head and the lack of any other facial orifice, they were the strangest of the bunch. Lacking wings but instead bore white ring tattoos on their back, foot soles, and palms.

They were the only unsummonable messengers. Exempting me of course. Their duty was more important than the other messengers who just had to attend to all mortal life or fight wars for stupid gods. They were made to guard the mortal realms.

Next was the Gemini. Too many battle like angels would not be good. So I made the Gemini the normal folk of the messengers. They could do whatever they wished as long as it didn't affect their general purpose.

Most importantly though the Gemini were the only ones allowed to freely traverse the mortal worlds without being called for. Something I would regret doing sooner or later.

They were the closest to mobs amongst the messengers and the most easily summoned and created. They were basically the goblins of my game.

I laughed at the thought as I watched the final set of messengers get formed. It wasn't the Divinas that I liked, not the Bravurans that astounded me. Neither was it the Soliverts that I would respect for their duties in space. It was the Furies.

When I made my research on what sort of messenger to make they were the first I had in mind. For a singular purpose. Fury. Death. Vengeance. Punishment.

They were the hounds of Dylaeria. The weakest of the messengers but also the deadliest. Unlike the rest that wore togas, my Furies wore sleek red-colored, breast-plated armor. With a skirt of mithril hanging from their waists and sturdy boots on their feet.

Every last one of the over 150,000 of them was dark-skinned with either braids falling down the sides of their helmets or wavy locks. Their white irises stared out of their helmets at me. The only ones that were as human as they could be.

Each dropped to one knee with a bow, their black with red feathers wings folded behind them.

"None shall bother them. They can do as they please on Dylaeria and all around." I informed Veras before nodding to the furies and turning to leave.

"Mother". The voice of a female halted me. I watched as a Fury stepped forward my eyes noting the long story hanging off her hips.

" What is our purpose?" She stared me straight in the face before adding. "With all due respect".

A smile went up my cheeks as I held myself back from laughing mentally activating the recording feature. I wondered what the company would do with this video.

" You,' I shall name." The fury seemed shocked if her eyes widening slightly was any sign as was Veras.

"But I already possess a name mother"

"Not anymore. You have spoken with the mother as equals and as such she shall treat your courage with its merit."

And so I pondered.

"Jarla. For you have questioned the mother with a straight spine, as such you earn a name close to hers".the surprise on all the Furies faces was amusing to see but I quickly cut down any stupid attempts to be rude by them as I warned death for whoever tried next.

" For your question Jarla. All of your cousins have their objectives. But you and your siblings were made for one thing only." I paused and took a step back spreading out my palms. "To bring my righteous fury on those who would cross me. That my dear is your one and only purpose".
