The Ruins of Aswingnir - The Rules 2

The silence was palpable as everyone realized how fucked they would be if an Unborn ended them. It would mean an already prepared weakness against any more powerful enemy that showed up. It wasn't a risk to be taken due to their presence beyond universes.

All kept silent unable to even talk as they watched the Unborn take slow and unbothered, yet angry steps. toward the Undule. The player's one eye was extremely bugger, widened from the terror of encroaching death. All watched unable to act as the Unborn halted right before the Undule, his palm rising slowly and moving for the slender neck of the god.

"Enough"

The pressure vanished neutralized by another. The Unborn halted with a sneer at the god before turning and stepping aside. All eyes moved to the Unborn group who stood unmoving. The center of the room this time was the Unborn slowly stepping towards us. This one was visibly different from the rest. Looked more powerful, and even he's steps gave off the supremacy in his body.

"None of you can die by our hands" the statement had the gods confused. "Your purpose here is not to be killed by any of my brothers. Your purpose is to kill or be killed by what lies beyond these safe grounds." blazing eyes looked from one god to the other with disinterest.

"Personally I wouldn't care for your actions or strength. but the mother has lots of activities everywhere. Your inadequacies are distractions to her plans." he paused once more probably for dramatic effect. "As such tho will live for the next cycle here. Be warned, while we have no right to end your lives, a grace you have due to the blood running in your veins and the life that you have, this does not mean we can't punish, torture, or make your days in Aswingnir miserable. " His eyes moved to the Unborn who had paralyzed us before with his pressure.

"None of the Unborn hate or looks down on you... " his next words had the general number of gods looking to the other Unborn and then back to him earning a sigh.

"...hundred percent. You will do well to watch the words you speak of the mother. She is not a figure you desire to annoy". he warned.

" Five will be your Commander. You will listen and take all commands from him" A smile from the Unborn who initially wanted them dead had all of them going pale in fright. All eyes went to the other Unborn who cut us off instantly.

"There can be no grudges amongst children of the mother. You either settle your issues with him or suffer/his wrath and be forgiven. Either way issue solved".

" As new beings in this territory, I am sorry to inform you that you gods will live outside the City. It is very dangerous as suspected and death will be unavoidable. Rest assured the waters of the pond will bring your body back. " A glance was all the affirmation he gave to the pond we were seeing being the one.

"Things here work differently than in your universe. Here points are everything. To gain points you need to kill creatures outside. Sell their shards and corpses to the city and grow your points."

"What can we use the points for?" someone blurted out. earning a flare from everyone. The last thing the gods needed was another Unborn pressure.

" Everything." the Unborn deadpanned. "You stay outside because you currently own nothing. To gain access through the gate and to safety you need points. To get points you need to kill the creatures, and for this to be easier you need better weapons. For protection you need gear and for housing you need..." he waved to the ruins around them.

"With points, you can buy a house of your choice and fix it up. I must say this. There are treasures that the Mother demands you find out there. This comes with a quest panel for all to see" he pointed up and the gods noted the glowing four-by-four-inch golden screen floating in the sky.

"It is visible from any angle and any location. There are different missions and tasks. Some to hunt for treasure or rare beasts. A warning, depending on the treasure found, the choice might be outright seizure, chance for exchange or to do as you please. Good luck and may the Mother guide your steps."

"May the Mother guide your steps!" the Unborns chorused. Without a word, he turned to leave.

"Wait! I mean, excuse me sire" It was Gertrude who moved forward.

"Where can we see our points sir?. And also what may we call you?". her questions were important as was noted by everyone who turned to face her. The unborn paused but made no attempts to turn.

" Access your templates. Some things have been added. As for my name, call me First. " His head turned giving a good view of the right side of his face and the burning eye that faced the gods.

The excitement in the air was thick. It was accompanied by tension and a bit of doubt. The several gods already broke from the racial ranks and formed groups with their friends and also added new possible allies to their ranks. A look through their template and inventory shocked and relieved most gods. Shocked because of the changes and relieved due to the presence of their armor and weapons within their inventory. Some gods though had heavy hearts as they deduced that the Unborn left them to hold unto their gears since it would be useless against whatever lay beyond.

The gods all began prepping themselves given they had only a few moments before the Unborn threw them out.

"Alright, gather up" the shout made all jump and turn to locate the offender." all eyes turned away instantly on meeting the white ones of Five. The sneer he had was provoking yet none could react.

The Unborn watched as all of them gathered up before he turned and match in the opposite direction that the Unborns had appeared from. The gods followed instantly while whispering amongst themselves. Of course, they knew where they were headed. Manu wondered how dangerous it was outside for the Unborn to believe it could serve as a training ground for them.

The only thoughts Franco had as he worked were of the titles he had gotten and of the life stone he had. It was a confusing relic to gain due to the presence of the respawn ponds. He dared not bring it out to check here, who knew what kind of treasure it was? The last thing he needed was a group or all of the gods hunting him for the thing if it was special.

Gasps and mutters drew his attention to the surroundings as he joined the others in looking around.

The city was obviously once beautiful and majestic. Now it was a shadow of is former self. It begged the question of what happened. Was it an event that happened with Hildelith or something beyond her? While most gods knew that Hildelith made everything within the star rings only a few also knew that she was not absolute beyond her territory.

"Look at those Living armors" a player muttered. All eyes won't to the direction her finger pointed and most shivered. If the Zeukites felt oppressive then these were more. The feeling they gave off was a bit less than the Unborn but yet it was stifling. Fire danced in their eyes and the glow in their chest pulsed occasionally.

Soon they had left the city and its walled gates behind. Everyone looked around as they crossed the plains that lay in front of the gate. Slowly they came to an edge that for some reason they could hardly see beyond. What most did notice was that the red and gray skies got thicker and foreboding.

Suddenly the Unborn halted.

"There is only one rule to be followed. Do as you wish, kill as you wish. Fight yourselves if you want, but never tell any being not made with the Mothwr's spark anything that could be used against us"

While most nodded from fear of the pressure holding them, only a few like Franco got the hidden meaning behind the warming.

'There are other gods not from the star rings here'.
