Doom Sovereign 2

[A/N: The previous chapter was the wrong edit. Has been removed. To compensate will drop two instead of one chapter]

The King moved to leave the mountain since his task was now complete. Two steps to the narrow path from which he had traversed the mountain he halted. His mind was ticking or blinking, he couldn't explain the feeling nor did he care to understand. His senses were locked a trio presence right below him. No.

It was moving up, fast. For a moment he wondered if he had skipped over a Destroyer. No. It couldn't be. He could sense all life and had senses none below. Whatever was approaching was something else. He wondered if he should leave and avoid creating an unknown problem for his goddess. But fear was an emotion and Anoma had none.

The King stood upright and awaited whatever it was that quickly approached him.

CAIN'S POV

The system oath was a very convenient thing to have especially when it removed the need to search for allies and directly point them out to an individual. It was after all how the two girls had found him. His explanation of what had transpired had been reason with lacklustre expressions not that he minded knowing his partners.

After a moment of explanation, the three rushed into the cavern ready to fight. I admired the battle suits of the other two girls. While Desne was the personification of sexy, Faora like her demeanor was blank just nothing.

Desne had on tight spandex looking like a succubus which made sense considering her creations were Demoni. In her right hand was a long purple whip. On her left was a curved very sharp dagger. Faora had on her signature tattered cloak but beneath was a black modern-looking armor that showcased her feminine curves. It didn't make her defense any open though and I knew her armor would be strong.

BOOM!

We tore through the exit of the pathway one by one, my second hand charging up a beam of light into the exit to expand it. Also maybe to showcase power even if the use still burned me. Faora had explained why it would be so, something about us not being ready yet.

I handed on my toes and rolled to a squat eyes peeled about for the danger. Beside me Faora landed and beside her was Desne effectively putting Faora between. Her mentally cursed as that should have been my position.

Such thoughts fled my mind as I spotted my adversary, or atleast a part of me hoped it wasn't. Standing tall yet shorter than us, mostly because it wasn't a Creator was a knight-like entity. The green eyes with golden pinpricks were a dead giveaway to its affiliation with what drove me here.

"That it?" Desne asked. Her voice barely restrained her contempt. I simply nodded as I activated my eye skill and watched the trail I had followed ended with the knight. I was about to deactivate when I spotted a new almost faint trail leaking from it and evaporating into the atmosphere.

"There's a new trail" I sounded surprised which the girls picked up on if their questioning looks were any sign. "I can't trace it. It dissolves into the air."

Desne raised her eyebrow still keeping her cold look which was a feat if I said so.

"Then we kill what we have" Faora's cold reply sent shivers down my spine. I once more praised my foresight with my choice.

"Who gets dibs?" Desne asked bored. I glared at her. While it was not a creator it definitely was dangerous. It surprised me to note that both didn't. seem bothered.

"It might seem weak to you both but I know what I felt," I warned. Faora and Desne seemed to consider his words before one shrugged and the other just kept silent.

"We'll assist if it proves difficult." Desne quipped. The very cold smile on her cheeks was not helping to pass her message as helpful. I shook my head and looked back at the entity. 'Go fast, and all out. Whatever cards it's hiding won't matter with it dead'. With that thought, I moved. I ran across the room at my top speed a smirk etched on my cheeks as I noted the knight unmoving and its four green eyes still locked on the girls. Arriving beside it I swung my blade down aiming to end it with one fell swoop.

CLANG.

The sound of my sword hitting a block shocked me. Its upper right arm was raised, and a black sword with gaseous matter emitting from it crossed in front of it.

"What the hell?"I watched surprised as it flew into the wall behind it with a boom. The area shook and some rocks fell from the walls. Dust covered the site and I watched on guard as I waited for any movement.

Its four eyes first shone through the dust, followed by its whole body which was now wreathed in greenish-blue flames. Then it charged at me its eyes glinting while a shield similar to mine formed on its lower left arm. I gritted my teeth as my fear grew and dashed forward. I watched it trip itself and then fall, just as my blade sang over its head. I grimaced as the wind blowing around me from my speed gave enough evidence of the power of my strike. Yet it never connected. It rolled up to its feet just as I turned and swung its blade at me.

'Its sword is too far, what is..?' I panicked as I watched a wave of green fire sweep out of the sword aimed at me. Something told me not to let that fire touch me, so I found myself by the girls once more.

"Strong. But slow" Were the three words from Faora. Desne cocked her head before stepping forward. "My turn". Her whip cracked in the air as she swung it out. The knight turned to face her sword billowing with green and blue flames.

HILDE'S POV

I was shocked, astounded, and more. My gaze moved from one position to the other as I remembered the tale the mushroom's leader had spun. Endolis was what their people were called, a race that survived from the energy of the ground or land. Mutated due to the Burning and Leeching on the plains.

Nerut's tale made sense, sort of, atleast it explained some things. The ruins, the white earth, and the creatures that walked this land.

"Take me to it".

Offering to show me the core of their world's problem with the hope I could fix it I had obliged and now an army of little beings led me farther into the white plains. The more we walked the more I realized how vast this world was. I took in the sights of decolored forests and fields, white grounds, and sands. The journey was long and had gone this fast mostly from me carrying the Endolis on a piece of earth and running while they pointed out the directions.

Then we arrived. The one place that was different from the entire world. Ice walls formed a ring around the ground where a beam of light shot up into the sky. The red light created constant waves from the base going up and also in reverse. The light made the ice walls look eerie and the surroundings look creepy. But it wasn't why I paused.

My head turned and I looked far back south into the distance, I could feel a troubled prayer reaching for me, a call that beckoned for my presence. I furrowed my brows as I wondered who and why I could feel this prayer far more than those from the mortal realm. Before I could ponder even more green fire enveloped my palm, then rose to form a circular disk. The center dulled down till it was almost dark and then it rippled and showed me something else.

My hands clenched into fists, my eyes narrowed and turned green. The ground shook as a green aura radiated off me in waves. Cracks appeared with me as the epicenter and the earth quaked even harshly.

"Three to one," I yelled. The earth shook even more. "How dare the". Without even realizing my body became bright and my eyes blended with a mix of gold. I radiated light like a star and without thought I took off into the sky.

Nerut exhaled in relief as the pressure vanished, his little eyes took in the devastation all around from the entity's wrath. Whatever she had seen had angered her enough for her to just leave without a word to them. Fortunately, her focus on their slab had been lost before she could fly off due to her rage. Nerut shuddered at the near-death experience he and his troop would be in from being dragged in the air.

While it was certain she was ignorant due to her anger it didn't mean he and the rest would be any safer. Best she fixed whatever enraged her. The Endoli would seek her out again.

Nerut turned to observe his people but froze as a sight caught his eyes. For as long as he had known, even from tbe tales passed down from his elders, there had never been something like this.

"A crack" he frowned as he took slow steps to the ice wall. He didn't get any closer though due to the malevolent feeling in the air and the ground closer to the ice. How the entity hadn't felt this he was unsure. From the crack red mist seeped out making Nerut gulp.

'This is bad'.

Far to the west of the ice walls, a group of angels stirred awake to the crumbling of the earth. All seven of them with only one pair of wings looked in the direction the rumbling came from before looking at themselves. They wondered if this was a sign from their maker. The task of finding what their maker wanted had been hard leaving them scouring this world relentlessly. While they were not tired and loved the freedom to battle on their own and gain strength, they still desired to end this mission and receive their rewards.

"Do you think it's anything good?" a female angel spoke.

"Doesn't matter. Let's scout it out, if it's something good then it's best to know. If not we can leave without any problems." another angel spoke. The rest nodded in agreement and with a powerful flap, all took to the skies noses pointed to the source of the earthquake.
