Was He Sent by the Gods?

Princess Sravati, accompanied by Ian and a veteran witch magician named Anita, ascended the stairs on the cliffside towards Fenrir's dwelling.

When they arrived at the top, the three saw a large wooden building. With just one glimpse inside, they could already see a massive White Wolf lying within.

Ian stepped inside with a friendly smile, while Princess Sravati and Anita stood frozen before the building. They felt a suffocating tension as they laid eyes on Fenrir.

"Yup, only temporarily. I came here to introduce the Third Princess of Huntara to you. So, can you tone down this intimidation aura for a bit? It seems Our Princess is scared."

<...I haven't done anything.>

"Sigh..."

Ian then returned to Princess Sravati's side, gently waking her up and advising that both the Third Princess and Anita needed to regain control of themselves.

The fear they were feeling wasn't intentionally induced by Fenrir.

Subconsciously, Sravati and Anita had become frightened merely by seeing Fenrir's figure and recalling the tales that had circulated for so long.

They had unwittingly constructed an image of Fenrir within themselves as a terrifying monster, causing their movements to freeze.

Ian reminded Princess Sravati about the tale of Fenrir, a story where Fenrir was not a threat to humans, at least not in the past or present.

As for the future, no one could predict that. With this in mind, Sravati understood. She looked at Anita and nodded. They began walking towards Fenrir, and Sravati knelt before him to greet him.

"Lord Fenrir, I am Sravati, Third Princess of the Kingdom of Huntara. I represent the Kingdom of Huntara and wish to thank you for your protection all this time," Princess Sravati spoke for the first time.

Next, Anita continued, "I am Anita, a High Magician from Huntara. It is an honor for me to meet you, Lord Fenrir."

As for Ian...

"...um, should I introduce myself as well?"

Ian, standing behind the two of them, neither bowed nor knelt, but rather watched in astonishment as the two individuals of higher status knelt before Fenrir.

He wasn't sure whether to follow suit, as he had come to consider Fenrir as a friend.

Ian looked at the two women kneeling beside him, their sharp eyes urging him.

For some reason, he felt an unexpected pressure to join in their actions. When Ian was about to start kneeling, Fenrir suddenly laughed, surprising both Sravati and Anita.

"Huh? Why would I bring alcohol? I only came here to guide the Third Princess."

Sravati and Anita lifted their heads, gazing at Fenrir more clearly as he sat comfortably, studying them.

The fear they had initially felt had transformed into a warm feeling. The image of Fenrir in their minds had instantly changed.

They now saw Fenrir as a gentle and graceful creature, with beautiful long white fur and eyes that gleamed like gemstones.

There was no trace of the intimidation they had felt from Fenrir earlier.

They both looked at Ian, who had returned with a jug of alcohol, three glasses, and a large bowl.

He poured the alcohol into the glasses and the bowl, placing them in front of each person and a wolf.

Fenrir then invited them to relax and drink.

Sravati and Anita were somewhat hesitant, knowing they had an important meeting with Cien later in the afternoon. However, refusing an invitation from Fenrir would be impolite.

The two women glanced at Ian, who was cheerfully drinking and chatting with Fenrir.

"This person..."

Finally, Sravati took a small sip of her drink. Afterward, she mustered the courage to ask Fenrir about the history that Ian had briefly mentioned.

She inquired about the past Abyss invasion and also about the Proxy.

Princess Sravati and Anita were enlightened by Fenrir's narrative.

Like Mia, this was the first time they had heard about Proxy. Princess Sravati understood why the kingdom wanted to keep information about the Proxy under wraps.

If the Proxy were indeed individuals bestowed with blessings from the Gods, the masses would trust the Proxy more than their own King.

Princess Sravati understood this, but she also realized that there should be a better way, like in the past when the Proxy and the Kingdom worked together.

Wasn't that the ideal situation? Unfortunately, human greed for power had severed that relationship.

Now, with the Abyss causing trouble once again, Princess Sravati felt that the presence of a Proxy would be highly beneficial, not only in terms of power but also for the people's mental well-being.

The citizens might find solace in the sight of a Proxy, a symbol of the Gods and Goddesses standing on the front lines to protect them.

"Lord Fenrir... are there still any Proxies at present?"

"Hmm, I myself have only heard of this term for the first time. In my old age, I've never once come across the term 'Proxy.' So, the likelihood of Proxies existing out there is quite slim," added Anita, who was currently 59 years old.

"Sigh... is there a possibility that Proxies could emerge in the future?"

"!!!"

Fenrir casually disclosed something so significant, leaving Sravati and Anita in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Ian laughed along with Fenrir.

Fenrir then added that even if Cien or Kirana were candidates, the chances of them becoming Proxies were still very slim.

As Fenrir had previously mentioned, he still occupied the position of the Proxy of the Moon Goddess.

Kirana not only had to increase her strength to the Champion level but also had to wait for Fenrir's passing.

For now, Fenrir had no desire to die whatsoever. However, if he were to indeed meet his end for one reason or another, Fenrir was confident that Kirana would inherit his position.

As for Cien, Fenrir explained that he was the only one capable of mastering the element of death in the present time. The followers of the God of Death had all perished.

Cien, himself, wasn't a worshiper of the God of Death; he could control the element of death because he was cursed by Hela.

So, even though he could become a Proxy, the likelihood was extremely low. In Fenrir's eyes, the Proxy of Death would never appear in Kastia again.

As for other Proxies, Fenrir didn't know. However, if the war with the Abyss continued, sooner or later, the Gods would bestow their blessings upon chosen individuals to protect Kastia.

Upon hearing this, Princess Sravati immersed herself in thought.

If what Fenrir said was true, then considering Kirana had already been acknowledged by Fenrir himself, the likelihood of new Proxy candidates in Kastia was very high.

At present, observing the fall of Farnodt, Princess Sravati and the kingdom's leaders had no choice but to admit that the kingdoms in Kastia were not strong enough to stand against the Abyss.

Almost all conflicts with the Abyss up to this point had been halted due to Cien's involvement.

"!"

Princess Sravati couldn't help but feel that something was amiss.

Blackwinter, Ashur, and now Farnodt—every time the Abyss invaded, directly or indirectly, Cien seemed to be involved, playing a role in halting the demon's movements.

The issue was, how did Cien know? The Shop Owner always appeared in the right place at the right time.

Moreover, considering Cien's curse that prevented him from leaving Death Valley, his ability to quickly travel to a place as far as Ashur was perplexing.

'Could Lord Millard be acting on behalf of the Gods?'

Sravati frowned.

Even if her assumption was correct, it didn't diminish the current threat posed by the Abyss.

Judging by the fall of Farnodt, Cien alone was incapable of stopping the Abyss forces.

What would happen to Huntara if the Incarnation of the Demon God and the Demon King who arrived in Marina invaded them?

Could they stop it without Cien? Princess Sravati had her doubts.

She pondered whether it was time to forge alliances with other kingdoms while searching for potential Proxy candidates.

Sravati would propose this to her father later. However, would it be accepted? Given the current state of relations between the kingdoms, it would require extra effort to make it happen.

'Difficult or not, I have to try. Sigh…'

Princess Sravati sighed softly, then shared the current state of Huntara with Fenrir.

As midday approached, the Princess and her companions bid farewell. She had to attend the next meeting—a meeting of utmost importance.

To ensure the safety of her kingdom during these turbulent times, she needed the strength of Cien and Arcadia.

About an hour later...

Princess Sravati and the delegates from Huntara entered the meeting hall with solemn expressions.

Inside, they saw Cien, Ethel, Mia, and the seven Division Heads sitting side by side on one side of the table.

The attendants in the hall gently shifted the chairs on the opposite side, welcoming the Huntara delegation to take their seats.

They placed a cup of tea and small snacks in front of each delegate.

Once everyone was seated, Cien and Sravati exchanged smiles.

"Welcome, honored guests from the Kingdom of Huntara. We, the people of Arcadia, greatly appreciate your presence in our humble territory," Cien greeted while looking at the delegates in the room.

"Let's proceed to discuss our main agenda right away."
