CHAPTER 9

Morning arrived and everyone's life is busy. The street is also busy with cars experiencing traffic, vehicles are also full at this moment, and railroads keep on getting used today. The noises of the city make everyone know that every morning is indeed busy.

Andrea is not an exception to the busy day ahead, she woke up, got dressed properly, and immediately went to her office. Of course, it's not like her job is only being the leader or the boss, she also has a company to run. A famous technology company that develops any kind of advancement using technology.

Her company is big enough that it is at the top of all companies that compete with her. If she was known as the Leader of the biggest syndicate in the underworld, then up here she's known as the domineering CEO of such an advanced corporation. She got it all in life.

"Good morning, Lady." Solaris, the secretary of all time big woman, Andrea Leane Meneses. "Morning." She replied to him as she sat in her office chair, started to open the documents, and read them. It was always busy, there was no day that she could be free from all the work. Besides, she handles two wealthy organizations, so how could she give birth to have free time?

"Solaris, the usual," Andrea muttered and Solaris immediately nodded and left the office. Her office was below her two-story space. She lives inside her company, and it looks as if her office is the highest point of the building, but there's an additional two-story floor that connects her office and that floor. The said floor is not accessible to employees, except for the household caretakers, Solaris the secretary, and a child she took care of.

It was built that way so she could no longer travel. Besides, it saves her from a lot of commotion especially the traffic that annoys the hell out of her. The door opened wide, revealing a child under 5'0 inches, wearing a dress that resembles a Victorian dress. The child looks like a walking doll, her black raven hair was tied into twin tails with a red ribbon tied into her hair that serves as her headband. Her red eyes glow as if the sun hits them, her rosy cheeks are natural with no make-up applied to her skin and her pink lips resemble a doll's rosy pink lips. She was smiling toward Andrea, her red eyes glimmering at the sight of Andrea.

"Sister, Good morning!" She cheered at Andrea who was sitting in her chair. Andrea looked up and saw Ray, the child she took care of. "Wait until my secretary arrives. The breakfast is currently on its way." She said and looked down again at her paper works.

"Poor Secretary, still getting asked to fetch the food," Ray muttered as she sat across Andrea's table and played with her phone. She was keeping herself busy but the boredom couldn't leave her. So she looks up to her sister, who was handling burdensome paperwork and smiles at her.

As if getting disturbed by someone who's cheeky, Andrea looks up at Ray, who's acting shy as if she wanted something. Andrea immediately gets thought of why she was acting like this. She reached out for her head and petted it while her face was void of emotions. But Ray, who stared at her eyes, saw how her purple eyes were smiling at her, even though Andrea's face was complete without any hint of expression.

"I know what you need. A cake, right?" Andrea asked as she took away her hand and continued to look at her paperwork, without glancing at the nodding little girl. "Don't worry, I already said that to my secretary." She said, reassuring Ray who happily smiled at her.

"Thank you, sister!" She brightly smiled at Andrea who only nodded at her. Ray went to the vacant table and decided to wait for her cake. As if on cue, the door opened, revealing a guy with shoulder-length red hair tied in a ponytail, wearing glasses under his green eyes, and wearing an office outfit. He looks like a doctor but a young doctor to be exact.

"I got the usual, Lady." He said and looked at the person who was always inside his Lady's room. A child, possibly 3 or 5 years younger than him, smiling at him, obviously spotting the food he brought.

"Serve it to her, she's famished because you're late," Andrea warned the secretary with her cold voice. "The traffic was heavy. I apologize, My lady." He apologized and bent a little before serving Ray the food Andrea ordered.

After Solaris served the food, he left the office leaving the little girl and Andrea inside. His office was outside Andrea's room, for safety purposes. The files that were sent to him were stored somewhere else that no one knows except for the secretary and the owner. So there was no scary part of losing some important documents.

When Solaris left, Ray immediately sliced the cake in half and put it on a plate to serve Andrea. She immediately prepared her usual coffee-actually it was bought from the city so it was easy to serve. After Ray's preparation, she immediately picked them both and put them on Andrea's table, carefully so that they would not spill over the papers.

"You should eat breakfast, sister! Why aren't you listening to my nagging!" She pouts as she puts the cake and her coffee on the table.

"I have no time for breakfast. Eat now or I'll give it to the secretary." Andrea softly threatened the child which was effective. Ray, whose sweet tooth does not decay has only one weakness, the sweets she always gives to her. It's as if her life is connected to sweets.

All of this paperwork is making Andrea's eyes hurt, running a syndicate wasn't that easy either. "Fuck." She muttered and sliced the cake Ray offered to her. An 18-year-old that still looks like a child to Andrea, even though 18 years old falls in the teenager category, no matter how she looks at Ray, she's still a child.

"Ray." She called the girl who was eating the cake as if it were her life's battery. Red eyes crossed her purple eyes, as the kid smiled at her while eating a chunk of the cake she ordered for her. "Yes?" answered while writing an early-finished cake.

"Do you want my share?" Andrea offered while pushing the plate. Breakfast is not her thing, coffee is fine. "No. I gave it to you sister, you should eat it." She shrugged and kept on piercing her cake.

"But it looks like you need more," Andrea said as she sipped her coffee elegantly while reading the document she was holding. Before Ray could answer, a knock broke out, and Solaris entered the room once again, holding a lot of documents that were piled in his hand.

"Hi Lari, having fun eh?" Ray smiled teasingly and someone whose face cannot be determined if he was happy or not. "Shut up, Lady." He answered calmly. "Ma'am, this paper needs your attention." He informed Andrea who was massaging her temples. It looks like both haven't gotten enough sleep.

"I can help." Ray offered to help after she cleaned the table she used. "It looks like I need your help, Ray," Andrea said and groaned. Loads of papers were delivered first thing in the morning, of course, who wouldn't have a bad day?

"No one is allowed to visit for today, Solaris. I can't deal with them." She said as she finished her coffee in one gulp. Coffee is what makes her alive, caffeine sure is powerful against all negative feelings. "Yes Ma'am," Solaris replied and left Andrea and Ray inside the office.
