CHAPTER 29

Sirens had been trailing them, as Raella was looking back, searching for guns to shoot. "A new order has arrived, shoot the tires and not the police," Ace said as he drove the car expertly. "Can't we just kill them?! They're annoying as fuck!" Raella exclaimed but Ace shook his head instead.

Raella found an R-301 Carbine, a mid-range gun that is good for close up. She then went to the other side, opened the window, and snuck her half-body, pointing the gun at the cars that followed them.

She then shot each tire causing disarray, causing accidents on the national highway. She snuck back inside and reloaded the gun as she was kneeling on the floor of the car. Constant flooding of bullets is fired in their direction, intending to cause harm to them. Good thing that there was no traffic happening since it was already way late. Yet here they are, followed by cars and driving like they were part of the cast of Fast and Furious.

They were even followed by a helicopter, just to spot them. "Damn!" Ace shouted and immediately took Raella who was reloading her gun.

"What?!"

"Take a deep breath!" Ace said as he left the driver's seat and took a deep breath. "What?" She repeated but the car suddenly went straight to a cliff, landing on the sea. It was hard for her to process but she immediately swam her way out of the car, through the window she opened as she was shooting the cars. She was able to get out of the car, swam deep to avoid the flashing light of the helicopter, and ought to find them despite the fact that they had already sunk at the bottom.

Ace was behind her, swimming as if the gunshots didn't bother him. The mask was suffocating her so she removed it, held it in her arms, and swam once again.

-

Several minutes have passed and they arrive at the shore, crawling from exhaustion. Ray was breathing deeply, in and out after she swam for nearly 30 minutes. Hell, she could even die for that 30 minutes but thanks to the irregular training she had, it was never hard yet exhausting.

"Shit." She said as she put her mask back in her face, attempting to stand up once again but her legs were shaking. "Here, let me help you," Ace said and held her hand, pulled her up, and supported her with his body. "Good work on your mission." He said.

Raella nodded but didn't talk as she felt like her lungs would not function well if she talked more. Both of them were about to walk when flashes of lights were aimed in their direction. "Not again!" Raella complained but Ace was calm once again.

"Relax, it's the elite force. I sent them our coordinates to help us. Good thing they were on stand-by after I alerted them about our situation." Ace said coldly and carried her in a bridal style.

"Put me down!" She roared but Ace was not bothered. "Tell your legs to stop shaking first and then I'll put you down." He said and continued to walk, nodding his head towards the elite force. "You bastard!" Raella shouted, but Ace acted un-bothered once again.

"The car is ready sir." One of the elites said and opened the door for both of them. Ace didn't say anything but he managed to put Raella into the backseat and closed the door, leaving Raella alone in the car. Raella was curious as to why Ace wasn't entering the car, he was discussing something with his subordinates, and yet she couldn't hear them speaking.

Raella's eyes started to droop, and her sheer will to keep her eyes closed was starting to back down from the force. All exhaustion, tiredness, and pain came back to her body, allowing her to feel the pain she experienced. Not long after, Raella closes her eyes, giving in to the sweet temptation of sleeping.

-

After Ace was done discussing the situation and how they dealt with the officers, he noticed that Raella was sleeping inside the car, with no air conditioning. Realizing how he treated her, he immediately went to the car and sat in the backseat, and tilted Raella's head to his shoulder, allowing her to sleep more comfortably.

"Start the car and drive to the HQ. Madame must have been aware of the situation, especially since this case will cause an uproar. " Ace said as the car's engine started to roar, and drove off the road. The mission has been cleared and the rest of it will be handled by the Madame instead.

-

Phileo felt like someone was watching him. His groggy eyes started to open and everything was blurry for a minute until his eyes got adjusted and saw someone sitting on a seat, petting a large animal while it was looking at him.

A roar was heard, indicating that the animal noticed that Phileo was awake. "You're awake?" Someone asked, making Phileo squint his eyes from the blinding light. "Who are you?" He asked the person sitting in front of him with his eyes half close.

"I thought you were gonna ask about where you were at. Isn't that the typical question asked frequently in any kidnapping scenes in a movie?" The person said as it continued to pet her big animals.

"You haven't watched movies involving kidnapping then, they first ask who's the suspect, not the place," Phileo answered as he smirked, trying to annoy the person but he earned a chuckle instead. " You're a funny guy." The person said and stood up.

Phileo's eyes trailed the person walking straight to him. The clack of the heels was evident that the person in front of him was a girl.  "Long time no see, Lieutenant Colonel Phileo." The woman in front of him said as she crouched down, facing him.

Phileo was kneeling on the ground, both arms were tied sidewards as if he was about to get his hands nailed. His feet were also tied up very tight, immobilizing him from moving. "You know my name, yet I only know your sex. Isn't that unfair, lady?" He said and chuckled.

"Well, that's enough. Let's get down to business." The woman said as she observed Phileo's face. "You're handsome." She uttered, enough for him to hear her.

"Why, thank you. Receiving a compliment from my kidnapper is a nice thing to hear after I wake up." He said, making Andrea smile at how this guy was very calm instead of panicking. Two lions went to her side, making Phileo's eyes bulge out and it started to get awkward. Lions are terrifying but this woman in front of him was petting them earlier without them biting her! How much of a powerful person is this woman in front of him?

"What do you need? You said something about business, so I'm going straight to the point. I can't help you. Whatever your plan is, it's better to kill me." Phileo said, proud of the fact that he didn't utter after the lions looked at him like he was somewhat delicious. "And please, you can let them taste me after your bullet pierces my head. I do taste good." He confidently said, trying to curry the favor of his brain for not getting scared.

"Hm, I can't kill you."

"And why is that?" Phileo asked, confused. Isn't the reason for this kidnapping to ask him about the movement of the government and later on will kill him?  "There's a lot of things that you will help me with. I can't kill such a good pawn right?" She said.

"Marry me." She added that made Phileo choke up from his saliva. What did she say? "What?" Phileo asked once more, uncertain if he heard her right. "Seems like the sedatives made your ears weak. I said Marry me." She said.

"What the hell? Are you sure? I don't know you! Much less that you kidnapped me and you expect me to marry you? I don't even know you!" Phileo exclaimed, shocked at what the woman said to him. "I don't even know what you look like! What marriage are you talking about? I will never accept your offer. Sorry, but I reject it—"

Before he could finish talking, the woman sighed and removed her mask in front of him, revealing the woman that Phileo was smitten with. "Now, will you marry me for damn sake?" Andrea said to him, with her face that it looked like she was annoyed by his blabbering.

"I do." He suddenly said making Andrea's eyebrow raise. "What do you mean I do? It's either yes or yes." Andrea said and sighed as she has to deal with this guy for now. God knows how she wants to slap this person right now.
