Informing her.

Luciana came back to the study with the diary and found Mina playing with Nemesis.

She asked for Erebus when he appeared from the second floor of the study.

There were a few scrolls in his hands.

He alighted down and put them on the table. His wings vanished as he opened one of them.

Mina offered her refreshments. It was boiled potatoes stuffed with steamed yak meat and a bowl of dried yogurt with Black currants, mulberries and barberries. It was a traditional dessert specialty of the domain made for ages.

Luciana took a bite of the stuffed boiled potato. It tasted good. The chef had added little spices and made it according to her taste.

She was grateful to him everytime that he strived to live up to her expectations.

Even though they were slightly altered, they were not the dishes she ate back home.

"I bought some warm yak milk milady. Would you like to have it?"

"I will but after I take care of some important things." She appreciated her hard work and joined Erebus who focused on the scrolls.

He struggled to make out the symbols and meanings behind the writings on the scrolls. Some drawings of diagrams that represented plants and their anatomy caught her eye.

"These...are barberry bushes." She immediately recognized the picture on the scrolls.

He looked at her in astonishment.

"You...can you read it?" He asked her.

She nodded and read out the words loud and clearly.

"This is ancient Wahrheiti symbols and among them some are written down in Moghol and Monguor. Here these letters." She pointed at the syllables that he knew nothing about.

"They're spoken mostly in north, east and south eastern parts of Zhonguo Republic today. Maybe the scribe from that place travelled to this place."

He still stared at her astonished by her vast knowledge.

He opened another scroll and showed it to her.

She focused on it in silence. They had similar syllables.

"Amazing!" She exclaimed in surprise.

"What's written in there?"

"I didn't know such poisonous plants could actually be used for medical treatment. It says they are highly effective for half demons."

She looked at him as he stood closely racking his mind to understand what it said.

"Where did you get them?" She asked him.

"I don't know. An old merchant had them on him. I only helped him out and he gave these. Jafar and I had a hard time trying to read since we never received any kind of education.",

"You... Never had anyone help you out?" She felt sympathetic towards him.

"No one around really received good education. Blake had taught me whatever he knew. Jafar and a few others who had learnt how to read and write to some extent helped out. Studying isn't my thing so I had a hard time learning the languages. The same goes for other stuff like history and politics."

Luciana could see his troubled face by simply mentioning studying. She could see his where his weaknesses lie.

"But they are equally important." She insisted.

"How so?"

"To develop and maintain a domain or a country these aspects are highly valuable. A lord ought to know his country's history so they won't repeat past mistakes. To keep citizens safe one must know about politics. Not every time it is necessary to make war a solution of conflict. And languages can also help in various aspects like trading that will improve the land's economy. Knowing your enemy's language can help you figure out their plans that could pose a threat to you."

She kept her gaze and studied the scroll at the same time.

-"Since when was she this talkative? Is she having rapid emotional surge?"

He didn't realize how much advantage he could bring by only studying.

"Did you learn all of this?" He asked.

There was no way according to him that she had learnt anything about Wahrheit.

"Yes, even though I lack in some places. I was taught about the languages, culture, etiquette and even economical and political conditions of Wahrheit. I didn't get to learn much about the military status."

She put down the scroll and looked at him.

"These herbs, they mostly grow in the central capital of Wahrheit." She pointed at the broad leaf plant.

He wasn't paying attention and suddenly snapped back to reality.

"Black bryony. They are very affective herbs for wounds and bone diseases."

"Luciana." He interrupted her briefly.

"Y-yes?"

She suddenly realized that she was too much out of the line.

"I apologize for crossing the line!"

"Don't. Just hear me out." He felt troubled bringing up his abrupt departure to the central capital.

"Jafar and I will be leaving for the central capital tomorrow..." He informed her.

She didn't speak up or question him.

" It was intially stating to bring you with me...they must've caught on that I have you here." He sighed.

She suddenly felt like being hit with a rock on her head. The fear started to engulf her whole.

She felt weak assuming the worst consequences waiting for her and Nemesis.

"Will they persue me?" She asked shakily.

" They won't be able to...I hope so. I will do whatever in my power to stop them from doing so. It's against imperial law to forcefully separate a married couple."

He helped her on the seat.

"Will you go alone?" She mumbled.

"Jafar will assist me on my way there. Zavaikal that bastard...he knows your true identity. It will be worse once he has his interest in you." He grimaced.

He didn't want to leave her alone considering how Zavaikal infiltrated his fortress in the past.

"Then I should come with you." She insisted.

"Not a chance." He refused her suggestion.

"You said you'd keep me safe."

"I'm not so invincible to take on the whole imperial guard division by myself. And I only specialize in assassination and execution. The demon's in the capital are far greater in strength and status than me."

She felt dejected. This time it would be harder for her to bear it alone. She was now expecting. And with a toddler with her she was more vulnerable.

"I will double the guards at every post. And while I am gone you will need to manage the domain. Blake will guide you through it."

With those words he left went to the door and paused momentarily.

"Don't worry I have assigned Lilith to take care of you. The other staff will also assist you so there shouldn't be any problems."

He left her withany thoughts flooding her mind.

"Will I really be alright?"
