Memories

Su Yu felt his heart momentarily stop, making him think that he died. His vision darkened. Before Su Yu could process what happened, he felt his soul pulled, returning to his body which was cold. Then, his eyes slowly opened, and saw that he has already returned to the present.

Just now… what happened was that the owner of the toy train fainted in fear. Unfortunately, due to it, Su Yu didn't manage to see the owner of that face which scared the owner of the toy train. Was it because the owner of the toy train, who he suspected to be the evil ghost, was bullied when he was young so he decided to take revenge?

Su Yu tried to recall the members of the Lei family, but he couldn't remember whether there was a family member who was killed. Su Yu tried to recall again what happened in the memories of the owner of the toy train, but he couldn't discern whether the owner of that voice who scared the owner of the toy train is a girl or a boy.

Su Yu sighed in frustration, but he knows that he can't be in a haste. Haste makes waste, after all. Thus, he has to take this at a natural pace, and receive whatever the evil ghost wanted to give to him. To which, this time is a memory.

This makes Su Yu feel confused, though. The evil ghost's actions are contradictory. At first, it covered up the original appearance of the Purple Old Manor using an illusion. But later, its actions are obviously leading him and Duan Yuan. So, what is the evil ghost's purpose? Does it really want them to help it by unraveling the past? Then why use an illusion to deceive them?

Su Yu feels that there is something off about this… but the situation is already strange as it is. Thus, Su Yu placed this matter – the objective of the evil ghost, in the back of his mind. Right now, he has to find Duan Yuan first. And since he has already finished investigating the room, he went out of the door, which surprisingly didn't close unlike earlier on the first floor.

Su Yu didn't think too deeply about why the door is not closed, since he knows that the other doors in the hallway should be closed unlike the first one. And they are closed because the evil ghost took Duan Yuan to one of these doors. Su Yu tried to feel Duan Yuan's situation again through the mark, and he sighed in relief when he felt that Duan Yuan is still alive.

Though, Duan Yuan's heartbeat is faster than the last that he sensed him. It's as if Duan Yuan is even more scared, but it is also not it.

This heartbeat… Su Yu thought as he looked at the other three rooms. But, he didn't see or hear anything. Could it be that Duan Yuan is fighting? He thought. Unfortunately, even if he has guessed right, there is no sound that can be heard around. It was as if the rooms are all soundproof. Thus, Su Yu can't find Duan Yuan by listening to the sound of fighting.

Su Yu pursed his lips, feeling impatient again. But, he suppressed the irritation in his heart and took a deep breath. Finally, he decided to stop acting and turned back to look at his mobile phone showing his ongoing livestream.

"OOH! The anchor is back! He doesn't seem to be possessed anymore!"

"Thanking the gods! The anchor has returned!"

"Wuwuwuwu what happened to the anchor earlier? Why did the anchor lose consciousness? I thought that the anchor died – "

"Pei! Pei! Pei*! Don't speak such unlucky words!"

*sound of spitting, to disapprove of what the other/s said

Su Yu read each of the comments. "What happened earlier… I blacked out because… I saw some memories." He answered.

"'memories'? Your memories? Was it because your life is flashing before your eyes?"

The comment is obviously from a black fan that slipped through the net. One of Su Yu's fans reported it and the moderators blocked it.

"No. Not my memories." Su Yu shook his head.

"Not the anchor's (memories)? Then, whose memories are they?"

"Ah! I recalled that the toy train that suddenly moved touched the anchor's hand! Could it be - ?!"

"The memories of the owner of the toy train?!?!?!"

"This is too novel-like!"

The netizens are really smart to guess this. Su Yu chuckled. "En. It is correct." He answered. "Let me ask you, my lovely audience…" he said.

"AAAAHHH!!! Here it comes again! The anchor needs us! Brothers and sisters, come on!" the online audience cheered.

Su Yu smiled. "I want to ask… do you know if there is a sibling rivalry or competition between the children of the Lei family?" he asked. "Like one of them bullied the other?" he said.

"Anchor, let me dig up for more information!"

"I don't know where to search, but let me ask my grandmother if she knows about the Lei family."

"I know a family friend whose family has some relationship with the Lei family. Let me ask him!"

Even though Han Yu, Han Yao's younger brother, suppressed the hot search on Weibo for Su Yu's livestream, still the audience increased and some people who know the Lei family flocked to Su Yu's livestream.

This made the horror livestream anchors from the other companies angry, but they could only swallow this defeat since they don't have the guts to explore the Purple Old Manor. They love their lives more than the fame so they could only continue to bitterly watch Su Yu's livestream as both his fans and audience increased.

Truly, Su Yu has the fate of being popular.

Su Yu also saw that the number of audience and his fans increased and he felt happy. "Thank you, everyone!" he said and grinned. Then, he turned to look at the other three doors. While waiting for the audience's answer, he is going to find Duan Yuan.
