"You may continue. "I said.
"The new religious sect, known as Surya's faith, has stopped their long pilgrimage and started to build their first temple in honor of their god in Volon Therys. It makes me wonder... Of all places, why a Rhoynar religious group decided to build a temple in a valyrian city?"
Jolhar was a low-height man, which is rare among the summer islanders. His skin and eyes were black. Summer Islanders' culture has some similarities with our Rhoynar culture. Their culture seems like a more liberal version of the Rhoynar one, not only do they practice equal primogeniture, but they do not have much of a tabu over intercourse as us.
But different from Rhoynar, they consider sex holy. They also have a female main goddess, which is the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility; in their religion just as us. Making one wonder if our culture did not come from the same root.
"Yes. Why would they?" I said pretending to have no idea, I will not be going around telling people I am a son of a god.
"Guess there is only one way to find out. I'm visiting the temple. We will continue the reunion later. You may go."
"Yes, your highness." Jolhar said and then bowed and left.
I changed my clothes, as I decided to go incognito, and went out. Finally, I reached the temple. It was in a sort of isolated corner of the city corner. The temple was made with three types of stones: chlorite, laterite, and khondalite, and creates a contrasting image with the city's white caliche walls and the city's several wooden buildings.
The temple seems like a miniature version of the Konarak Sun Temple. I took out my shoes and entered the temple it. After reaching the southern niche of the sanctuary, I was able to see a small idol of Surya. When I looked at the statue, it was like the whole temple was suddenly filled with light.
Now, I am in an orange-like space. Surya was there riding a chariot harnessed by seven horses. Next to him was a woman, I guess was goddess Sanjna.
"It's good to finally be able to see you, son." said Surya.
What should I say? No, idea. Let's improvise.
"Likewise."
"Let's present to you my beautiful wife, Sanjna. From the first time I gained consciousness, she was born out of dusking clouds and shadows."
"Hello young Karna, I am Sanjna or, as your father nicknamed me, Chaya or Chhaya. I just want to tell you that we, your parents above, are cheering for you."
"I'm glad to hear this.-I said and asked-I know it may be a bit too personal a question to ask, but mother Sanjna are you having any problem with bearing with father's heat and brilliance?"
The story of the appearance of Chhaya and the small "family conflicts" that started, Sanjna's shadows, may vary depending on the source, but in all, it started because, in some way, Surya's wife couldn't bear his heat, and brilliance.
"No, but why do you ask?"
"I was just worried that this would have caused a little trouble for you."
"Karna is worried about his heavenly parents how cute." Sanjna said." Now talking seriously, there's something I would like to talk to you about."
"Yes, heavenly mother."I said. At first, I thought of calling her stepmother, but I think a heavenly mother, as she is a goddess, sounds both more respectful and better.
"I may not seem like it, but I am actually about to give birth. Your father seems too nervous and worried to be helpful in the delivery. Could you help me?"
I was glad I knew how to help her give birth.
"It will be an honor."
Then, childbirth started. Sanjna was holding onto my father's hand which seem more nervous than her. While I tried to help calm her down. It was quite a simple, fast, and painless process. I cut the umbilical cord and tied it. My god little brother was born. He was a small baby boy with black skin.
"Would you do the honor of naming him, Karna?" asked her.
"Yes, heavenly mother."
"Your name shall be Shani."
