“I will take you both back to Blue Moon. You need to rest, I am returning to Phoenix Fortress to do the same. Be careful, both of you.” Angel told them both after a moment. Phoenix and Winter nodded, standing back so that Angel could shift. When Fireballs black eyes regarded them they got onto her back without arguing.

“Why do the phoenixes not get as big as the dragons?” Winter asked suddenly.

“You ask the oddest of questions. The simply answer is that the dragons are far more powerful, in both magics and physical strength. Their size reflects that.” Fireball answered, not unamused.

The flight to Blue Moon was uneventful, as was their arrival to the training field. Inferno met them as Phoenix and Winter got off of Fireball. The three of them watched as the phoenix took off again, bound for her own home.
