The Mute Runt

It took three days for Winter to recover enough to leave the Infirmary. The debriefing was scheduled for two days after to give her more time to recover. On the day of the debriefing Winter and Phoenix got out of bed and got ready for the day. Winter was thinner than ever, and there were shadows under both of their eyes. Winter was having nightmares again, Phoenix was able to pull her out of them but at a cost to himself. 


“Let us go to this debriefing. Sapphire will be there. I will ask for her help, for both of our sakes.” Winter told Phoenix. Her power had not been restored yet, and her physical strength was still low. 


“That seems like a good idea, I just hope that she can help.” Phoenix replied tiredly. The two of them then proceeded to the conference room, it had previously been a large sitting room but had been covered to a war room for the time being. Sapphire and Diamond were already there. Sapphire frowned when she saw the two of them.
