Chapter 9

B: She smiled at him when he entered the kitchen. "What took you so long?" She giggled. As he took her hand, she glared at him, but once he said good job she smiled. Once he let go, she finished her cookie and drank her milk. As he said they were going hunting she froze. 'Hunting....so soon?' She thought to herself. She shook her head and run up the stairs to change.

She found a cute crop top and some skinny jeans, and she added a leather jacket and some converse. She left her hair in a high ponytail and redid her makeup and added a bandana to her hair to keep the strays out of her face while she fought. She grabbed a dagger, sword, and her stele. She walked down the stairs slowly and went to find Isaac. She found him in the dining room talking to the institute on his phone. She just sat on the table and waited for him to get off the phone.

I: He was furious while on the phone, but he had to hide it. When he finally hung up, he had to wipe the stress out of his face with his hands. He stood up to tell her the horrific news. "Jess...The Institute says-" He stopped as suddenly there was a key inserted into the door. Isaac looked shocked, dumbfounded and completely alert when the door began to open, and he leaped over the sofa to Jess like the speed of lightning. He had a worried look as he instantly grabbed her hips to push her and her cookie into the coat closet. He put his finger over her lips and closed the door.

Derek walked through the door, silently tossing his traveling bag. He resembled Isaac only slightly, and he was much younger in appearance. Derek wore a leather jacket, his usual black attire beneath, and his stele at his side. He slumped on the sofa and stared at the ceiling.

"Welcome back." Isaac said as he non-chalantly blocked the closet door. Derek looked up at him for a brief second. "I didn't know you were coming back." Isaac continued to speak. His brother raised an eyebrow.

"You never give a crap if I'm here or gone, Zack. I'm going to take a shower. Are you on a mission tonight?" Derek asked.

Isaac wanted to answer truthfully. "I...m-might be. Why?" He asked in question leaning his head.

Derek hunched his shoulders and ascended the stairs to his bedroom in the loft. "I need to take my mind off of things. Hunting would help. Did you find the girl yet? I hear she has been giving you trouble." Derek leaned over the staircase. Isaac nodded slowly. Derek continued to climb the stairs. "Good. You had us worried." With that, Derek slammed the door behind him and shuffled around his bedroom.

Isaac went to the closet door and gently grabbed Jess and placed his finger on his lips and whispered. "Let's get out of here." He didn't want her to know he had been lying to the Institute about her, but now she knew the truth. She was not forgiven, she was still in a heap of trouble, and he was still in the process of capturing her and bringing her back. The Institute expected her to be brought in and punished, but he had not found the strength to stand up to them for her sake. he hoped she wasn't pissed. He began to push her out of the door before Derek saw her.

B: As she was pushed into the closet she pouted. She hated small places. She heard a new voice and Isaac talking. She listened closely. 'Oh, another shadowhunter lives here too? Maybe it's a roommate or a brother.' She thought to herself as she sat in the small space alone. She breathed deeply as she waited. He was going to be sorry for throwing her in a small space.

When Isaac opened the door, she glared at him. As he pushed her out the door, she growled at him. "WHY IN HELL'S NAME DID YOU SHOVE ME IN A CLOSET!!!! I HATE SMALL SPACES!!!" She growled at him. She was so upset that he pushed her into a small space
