Chapter 37

I: Isaac placed his hands in his pockets as he walked back to the Institute with a smile on his face. He continued to think about the vampiress who had smitten him with her charm. He went into the doers and chuckled at the words she said when he suddenly collided with someone hard making her fall back. He immediately apologized and pulled her up. "Oh I...I apologize for that, Jess. What? Woah woah! Slow down!" He tried to hold her arms to calm her, and he could not believe how hysterical she was. "The what? The ring? Jess it's alright. Come here." He gently pulled her close. "If you lost it, then let's go and find it together."

He smiled and softly took her hand and led her back to her bedroom to help find the ring. Once they were inside, he softly pulled her close to him. "I love you, Jess." He gently touched her cheek and kissed her lips and hugged her tightly. As he looked into her eyes during the kiss, he searched for the same incredible feeling as before. Was it there? Did the vampiress show him the sweet love he knew only Jess could give him? Or did the vampiress simply toy with his heart?

Isaac kissed Jess deeply, sighing into her lips as he searched for the feeling only love could truly give. Yes, they fought and bickered, but she had stolen his heart ages ago, the moment he saw the fear in her eyes when he came to take her from under the safety of that tree. From the moment she became injured and he nursed her back to health. They had been through hell, and he needed to know if Jess loved him the way he loved her.

Or...was the attraction he felt when kissing the vampiress proof that he belonged with someone else?

B: When Isaac was not angry with her, she was confused. She thought he would hate her. As they walked to her room, she hung her head. She was disappointed in herself. Sure, the fight with Isaac had made her very mad at him, but she knew deep down she really loved him. When they got to her room and he said he loved her and then kissed her she smiled and kissed him back.

As they kissed, she could taste the hint of blood on his lips and she could feel he was searching for something. She pulled away and looked at him. "Why do you taste like blood?" She asked with confusion all over her face. Had Isaac gotten in a fight? There was something strange about how he tasted. It was something very different. She looked at him and was deeply concerned. "Isaac. What is going on?" Her voice was soft and scared.

I: Isaac sighed as their kiss ended. He wasn't...sure. He thought he would feel it, that the moment he kissed her he would know. But that's when she asked why he tasted of blood. Isaac stared into her eyes for a moment, wondering why that was important. Then he realized it was Jess asking, not any other woman. "I kissed a vampire. Had I known she would have bit me for a taste, I would never have kissed you. I'm sorry Jess." He apologized honestly, not wanting to hide any truth.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring. "I thought it would be pretty shitty of me to say in front of everyone out there that I had taken your ring when I saw you weren't wearing it. But it was never my property to take. Here. You can have this. It's yours now. I have to go on a hunt." He set the ring on the windowsill where he had found it that morning, and he didn't care if she even wanted to wear it or not. Isaac knew exactly what had happened. The little vixen, doing what she did, and leaving the taste of blood in his mouth. He was so stupid!

Isaac left Jess I'm her room and he angrily marched to the armory, "Arrows Mike. And a bow." He said firmly as the hunters began to sharpen a weapon for him.

"Vampire?" The hunter Mike asked, and Isaac nodded.

"A vampiress from, West End. She was trying to break into one of the blood banks but couldn't get in because of the runes I drew. Little witch has my goddamn blood now, so she can bypass them. I'm such a goddamn idiot!"

Mike raised an eyebrow. "Dude, how did you let a vampiress take your blood?" The hunter chuckled as it was pretty funny that such a well-known hunter such as Isaac would screw up on his first day back.

Isaac grumbled. He refused to say he kissed her, and that was how it had been taken, but he was too ashamed. Isaac took the weapon and hopped into his car. If he needed to be found he told the hunters who had caught the vampire with him and helped him interrogate her, exactly where he was going.

When Isaac arrived, he parked down the street and removed the bow. He began to check the area when suddenly she appeared. Andy was smiling, slowly shaking her head.

"Isaac...you silly boy. I thought you were smarter than this." She laughed lightly and Isaac loaded his bow. She frowned and sighed. "Isaac, you break my heart. Why are you so stubborn? Did you really think I set this trap only so that I could be hit with one of your stupid little arro-"

He shot the arrow before her sentence could finish and it spiraled toward her heart. But before it could make contact a strong hand grabbed the wooden arrows from the air and broke it into splinters. A man emerged, his body skinny and dead, his face void of any emotion besides joy. "Hello Zack." The dead man's voice rang out. Isaac stepped backward as more vampires emerged around him.

Isaac quickly grabbed his Stele, but it was knocked out of his hand, and he was punched in his face. He began to fight, and use his swords, but the wild group of vampires subdued him easily and he lost consciousness from the brutal attack.

The vampires strung him up by his wrists, slicing each of them, letting his blood drain as they fed on his body in the warehouse outside of the city. His eyes sleepily opened, but Isaac was so weak, he could barely speak or even move.

He still heard Andy's voice, "don't worry Sweetheart. The pain will end soon. Very soon."

B: Jess was furious that Isaac had kissed another girl. So, when he left, she followed him. This argument was FAR from over in her mind. She wanted to talk it out. She followed a few meters behind him. She watched as he approached the vampire. She was beautiful. She looked at Isaac and her as they talked. When the other vampires came out one grabbed Jessie because she was busy watching Isaac. After he passed out the vampire who had her shoved her to the ground in front of the female vampire.

"Ah, who do we have here? Oh, you must be the little bitch Isaac told me about." She said with venom in her voice. Jessie looked at her and glared. "Oh, don't worry dear, your little lover is fine for now." She smiled evilly. "So, tell me why did you follow him?" She asked bending down to look her in the eyes.

"He kissed another girl. I was trying to find out who she was." She said with a hard voice. The vampire chuckled. "Stupid, bitch. It was me." She said with a smirk. Jessie's heart stopped. Isaac had cheated on her with a VAMPIRE! She hung her head. She could understand why. The vampire was so beautiful. She was so much better than her.

"Take her. She will be a good way to torture Zack." The vampire ordered the males. The Males grabbed Jessie up with rough hands and tossed her roughly into a van. She slammed into the side and it knocked her out.

I: When Isaac awoke, he saw the most unbelievable sight. He believed it was Jess, but how could it be? Then his eyes blinked, and he saw Jess in a chair, her hands tied behind her back, and her head sleeping to the side, and her body strapped tightly. "Jess! Jess!" Isaac yelled and was suddenly punched in his stomach so hard it knocked the wind from him.

"Marcus..." Isaac groaned out as the male vampire flexed his fist. The man Marcus then punched Isaac again and the hunter spat blood from, his mouth and growled in pain and rage. "What do you want?!" Isaac yelled and the vampire punched him again but this time in his face. Isaac choked and his head hung as he went quiet, his jaw in incredible pain.

"Strip him." Marcus demanded and took Isaacs Stele in his hand and began to turn it over through his fingers. The female vampire smiled and went to Isaac and began to cut off his shirt. She touched his bare chest and Isaac jerked from her hand. Marcus placed the Stele to Isaacs chest and began to force it to cut his skin. Isaac yelled loudly and grunted hard as it cut deeply into him. "Stop it! What the hell do you want Marcus!" Isaac yelled out loudly and the vampires laughed.

"Revenge Isaac. We are going to hurt you until it is no longer any feeling in your body." Marcus began to cut Isaac more and Isaac groaned loudly in pain. Marcus stopped and then turned to Andy. "Your turn Andy. Have some fun with our new pets."

Andy walked to Jess and sat on Jess's lap and began to play with her Stele.

"I know the perfect game to play. Heh!" She laughed and kissed Jess on the cheek. "I'm sure you are absolutely delicious. Jessie. Why don't you tell old Isaac here why you left him. He told me how sad it made him, but he never told me why you left. Can you explain it to me?" She asked.

Marcus then used his claws to force into Isaacs neck to make the hunter cry out loudly in pain.

"Tell him Jess before he dies."
