Chapter 43

I: Zack, he believed that fate had brought him to the woman he loved. From the first day he had seen her face, he believed that some strong force had pulled them together no matter how hard it would be to remain together as one. He had fallen in love, and proposed to her, and planned to spend the rest of his life in happiness. And yet, something had happened before they were able to marry. All because, Isaac had enemies, people who wanted him dead.

~____~____~

Zack was lost. He had no idea how long he had been gone, or how far he had gone from home, but all he knew was that he was in a strange place and lost. All of the women and men he had seen, didn't recognize him. He couldn't find his way home, he couldn't find his way back to wherever he had come from.

Zack continued to walk the street as he shivered. He looked down at his hand, and he saw his wedding finger had a scar, he was married? No, engaged? He couldn't remember. How long had he been gone? Who was his fiancé? Where was his new home?

Zack continued down the dark street as he tried to find his way back home. He had no cellphone or a contact to be able to reach someone he knew, he was screwed if someone didn't find him soon. What has happened to him? Was he kidnapped? Was he kept underground? His fiancé, would she remember him? Was she even alive?

B: Jessie had no idea where he fiancé had gone. It had been months. Jessie had slowly gone into a depression and gave up hunting. She was still at the Institute with all the other hunters. Every day she would disappear, and no one knew where she had gone. Her brother Seth and Blane were worried about her and kept the search up for Zack. Most of the hunters had abandoned the search due to the spike in creatures and demons in the world. They searched when they were out hunting, they searched when off duty, they searched day and night. Jess hardly spoke to anyone and she hardly ate. Her weight was down to 100 pounds, she had lost 45 pounds in three months. She was unhealthy and she did not keep up on her training and she never went on hunts. She had used several runes to try to help herself heal but nothing fixed her broken heart. The rune to heal did not even help her. Most of her runes had faded to look almost like scars.

Jess walked slowly down the cold and dark street when she saw the figure walking slowly towards her. She stopped and stepped deeper into the shadows. She was not about to get caught by another mundane male asking if she wanted sex for money. She was dressed in her normal all black but since she had lost so much weight her clothing hung off her body more than normal. She waited for him to pass as she watched from the shadows. She had been looking for Zack but now and days everyone seemed to be him.

I: Zack didn't remember this street, not even if he had passed it or even lived here before. He saw a woman walking ahead and he began to speed his walk to catch up with her, but then she was suddenly gone. He stopped, and sighed, and began to walk further until he just couldn't take it anymore.

"What are you trying to show me?! What is the purpose of this!? I don't know where I am! I don't know who I am! Just give me a sign! Just show me a sign! Anything! Please! Help me!" Zack was ready to explode. He was ready to go insane if that is what would solve it. He was not ready to live his entire life alone, and unaware of who he was.

Zack walked further down the street, not knowing he was being watched. He walked until he could see a house with a light outside and he ran up to the door. He knocked on the door hard, waking the family inside. "Please help me! I need a phone, I need a way to get home, please help me! I'm lost and I have no idea where I am. I don't...remember. Please help me, I'm not a creep!"

B: Jess heard the footsteps quicken then slow again. She waited then she heard the voice. It was Zack's voice. She stopped breathing and listened. It would not be the first time since his disappearance that Jess heard his voice. She waited to see if he spoke again. Her breaths softer than a normal humans. Her heart pounded in her cheat and in her ears as she waited. Then he called out again. She stopped breathing again and tears filled her eyes. She could see him clearly now and she knew it was him. "Zack?" She said softly from the shadows. It was more so she knew he was real, and not a figment of her broken mind. She stepped out of the shadows and walked over to him. She reached out and touched his face gently. She needed to make sure he was real.

Her hand touched flesh and she began to cry. "Zack? Please tell me it is truly you. I can't take another man yelling at me or hitting me saying he is not you." she said softly with tears streaming down her face. She could not take it anymore. If it was not him, she was going to go insane and move far away, maybe back to Paris.

I: Zack stopped as he heard the voice behind him. He went still and turned to see a woman there calling him from the darkness. He could see she was very sick, very sad and heartbroken, and he wanted to help her. "Do you know who I am?" He asked as she touched his face. He almost backed away, afraid she would hurt him like...like the woman he remembered had been so cruel. The memory was vivid yet short, Zack remembered her choking him with incredible strength. He remembered running away, but that was all.

The woman began to cry, and her words were a little confusing to him, but he didn't have the heart to tell her. "Hey, it's alright. Look, I'm not sure who you mean, I'm lost, and I don't remember much, but I will help you. Do you live nearby? Is there a friend or someone who can help you? Come on, let's walk for a moment."

Zack gently placed his arm around her, and he led her away from the house and toward the street. "What's your name? Don't cry, here..." he stood her still and softly wiped away her tears. "You're too beautiful to cry this way. Is there anything I can do to help you?"
