Did I hear that right? I think I'm hallucinating.

Keith stalks toward me and I'm rendered immobile, just standing on the spot, watching as he stands in front of me and closes the door behind me, locking us both inside his office. "You're not leaving until you understand what's at stake. Is that clear?"

"What is going on, Keith? What did I just hear and why are you threatening me about my mother?" I dare ask, narrowing my eyes at him as he goes to perch at his desk, crossing his arms on his chest. He always had this air of being well-mannered and confident that I found attractive in him; and although he imposes those two things right now, he seems a lot different than the man I thought I knew. He looks at me in a way I can't quite understand. I find that very unnerving.

But I don't show any weakness.

"What exactly did you hear from your eavesdropping?" he questions.

"You're dealing drugs now?"
