Chapter 45 The Birthday: Marudo (Part 6)

Beth had no idea when and how long she had been sleeping for, but when she opened her eyes she was lying on a bed in an unfamiliar room; a room that was not big neither was it small. She turned her head to the window taking note of the sun that was peeking out of the clouds; the sun was just about to rise but the day was still early.

She got down from the bed, her eyes sweeping through the room in search of Ryan but the prince was nowhere in sight. Striding towards the door, she pulled it open and was greeted by the sight of the person she was looking for standing there with his hands clenched to a fist about to knock on the door which was now open.

"What is it?" Asked Beth, coming out of the room and closing the door.

"I came to wake you up and have breakfast with me." He stated taking her hands in his. "You did not eat anything last night." Ryan pointed out to which Beth did not comment on.

"Where are we?" Beth asked while they ate there food in the dining room.

"Marudo." Came Ryan's single reply.

"I do not know if I have heard of such a place before." Said Beth thoughtfully.

"It is a small kingdom which not many know about its existence. It is why this Kingdom has only a handful of people living here."

"How did you come to know of this place then?" Now Beth's interest has been piqued and she asked with utmost curiosity.

"I have a friend who lives here and he offered to give me this house to stay for as long as needed. We had lost communication for a long time now but he had offered to help when I asked for it yesterday."

"That was nice of him." Beth nodded her head. "But why did we leave Denmore?" She had almost forgotten to ask him about it.

Ryan looked up from his plate and his eyes met hers and he could see the curiosity in them. He was seriously contemplating on whether he should tell her or not. Would she hate him if she knew? After all he did take away her chance to go back to her home.

In the end he decided to tell her anyway. "Your father came to take you back to Auxataria and I did not want him to."

"Oh." And then she continued eating.

Ryan was confused. That was all she said? Did she really not care? But behind his confusion, he was happy that she was not angry with him neither did she hate him.
