Li Huan sighed before gazing at the silent kid sitting in front of him.

Li Xang looked up and tilted his head as he looked at Li Huan with confused eyes.

"Nothing" Li Huan shook his head before looking down and continuing to eat.

Li Xang pursed his lips before looking at his father.

Li Huan gazed at him with his long eyelashes fluttering as he blinked.

"Is something the matter, darling?" Li Xang pursed his lips before speaking.

"I wanted to ask you something…" Li Xang asked as he put his chopsticks down and looked at the other with expectant eyes.

"Go on then" Li Huan stared at the child that held a brave expression as he looked at his father.

"I… I want to attend the top academy for magic users… I thought about it a lot…"

"A- and I know that you want me to not join it because you do not want me to be bullied because I still haven't unlocked my magic core and I'm happy that my father loves me but-"

Li Xang nodded before getting up and hugging Li Huan.

Li Xang was reading a book in the public library. Whenever his father was busy with work or resting, he would prefer to spend his time here as to not disturb him.

His dark bangs covered his deep, blue eyes in a light shadow. His eyes slightly moving as they skimmed over the texts written on the book.

"Hi!" Li Xang flinched and looked up to find Zhao Si in front of him.

Zhao Si was grinning as he took a seat in front of him.

"Um-" Li Xang muttered as he glanced at the male that was radiating such a pure aura.

Li Xang was not used to that. His father had a neutral aura surrounding him all the time and he grew accustomed to it. Li Xang was not used to someone being so… excited…? In front of him.

"What are you reading?" Zhao Si asked as he tried to peak at the book but Li Xang closed it before he could look.

Zhao Si pouted as he stared at Li Xang, who was getting shy due to the amount of attention this boy was bringing towards their table.

Zhao Si noticed the other was constantly gazing around nervously, He looked around and found a few people looking towards their direction.

Zhao Si glared at them and grew satisfied when they looked away, turning his attention towards Li Xang once again but noticed that the chair in front of him was empty.

Zhao Si pouted as his eyes grew sad, looking like a puppy that was abandoned by its companion.

Li Xang sighed in relief when he entered their villa.

But the relief did not last long when he heard a voice behind him.

"Where did you go?" Li Huan asked as his eyes narrowed. This child just left the villa without notifying him!

Li Xang looked at his father before putting the book down and raising his arms towards him, a clear indication that he wants to be picked up.

Li Huan sighed before picking the eight year old up.

"Now will you tell me?" He asked as he motioned for a servant to pick the book up before walking towards Li Xang's room.

"I just went to the library, father" Li Xang hugged his father and buried his face in Li Huan's neck.

"… alright… but make sure to tell me wherever you go to in the future" Li Xang nodded.

"Good" Li Huan whispered as he gently patted the child's back.
